Looking at getting my 11 year old his own rifle.

That’s a good question.

I’m 6’5” and my boys are gonna be big. My 11yo will be 12 soon and with puberty will be over 6’ tall I bet within a couple of years. So probably not.

I did mount the scope a little further back for him.
Yes they will. I suffer from this at 6'4", my oldest is 6'2" at 15, my youngest is 5, safe to say I have 2 bolt actions that are short LOP and some ARs that adjust anywhere, plus all my adult size rifles. the struggle of being tall is real, people don't understand..........lol

I bought my girls (7 & 8) a Howa mini in 6 arc. Cut the stock down to fit their LOP. They love shooting the gun and it has already killed 3 deer this season. I was going to get them a 223, but the other states we hunt in, a 223 isn’t legal. Went straight to the 6mm round so when they have tags, they already have their gun.

There have been a lot of good options listed. My oldest daughter is 8. She has been hunting with me since she was 4. Last year she wanted to graduate from a BB gun so we started with a 22lr. I have just about every caliber Handi Rifle produced and 3 in the 357. One of the 3 has been reamed to 357 Maximum. My plan moving forward is to let her shoot 38spl for a while and then graduate to the 357 mag. I want to thread my Maximum barrel and eventually bump her up to that. Shots for her will be in the 100 yard range. Moving along, my plan is to let her keep graduating up to calibers she feels comfortable with 243,25-06 on up. Once she finds her sweet spot I will invest in a nice bolt action that she can keep forever.
