They dont seem to exist in any configuration I want for him right now unfortunately.so order up a left handed tikka?
Also 1:9 isnt exactly a handicap. Hell a 1:10 will still throw a pile of decent bullets

My offer still stands if you haven’t found a rifle for him. I’ve got about $400-500 worth of factory ammo to go with it.I have a semi custom 6mm BR built off of a left handed Remington 700 action and a bunch of factory Norma ammo for it. I’d love to help a young guy get his first deer rifle. Send me a message if I can help.
Ive thought a lot about it to be honest. I will definelty let you know, just sorting out some Financials right now.My offer still stands if you haven’t found a rifle for him. I’ve got about $400-500 worth of factory ammo to go with it.
Probably going to go that route.I would jump all over @Cynoscion offer
For those of you who are lefty and using a right handed rifle....how is follow up shots for bolt manipulation. I cant imagine being able to run the bolt for a followup shot without wrecking your shooting position.

I'm left everything also and have the complete opposite opinion. First off, always have people shoot with the dominant eye.I'm about as left handed as it gets. Left handed, left eye dominant, I even stand with most of my weight on my left leg. I say get him a right handed gun. Its really not that difficult. Other guys have posted their technique, I personally twist the rifle about the bore axis counter clockwise while keeping it tucked in my shoulder and holding the fore-end with my right hand. My left hand then comes over the top of the rifle to work the bolt. It breaks the cheek weld but is very fast to get right back on target.
Getting a right handed rifle means that if he ever needs to borrow someone else's gun, it won't be any kind of adjustment, he'll already be proficient with a right handed rifle. He'll also have a lot more options to buy when he's an adult buying his own guns. (The same goes for guitars if he ever has any interest, I would avoid left handed).
Unfortunately CVA doesn't offer the scout in 7mm08. I debating on pick one up in 308.CVA Scout in 7mm-08 or 6.5 CR with suppressor.
I’d only use a g2 though. The decocking procedure for a contender is a potential safety issue. In general kids struggle a bit with hammers as is. But the original contender has a pretty serious safety flaw with its decocking system and the necessary procedure to decock it. I’d have a hard time recommending it for a kid and I say that as someone who absolutely love mine.Hobbit in 223 and use a contender rather than Encore for weight reduction. Either handed child coming up can use it
