PRS/NRL style matches have given me confidence and skill to make most any shot on game inside 600 yards, in all but the most extreme conditions. I know my limits and know my rifle because of what I learned. I started hunting several years ago, and wanted to learn to shoot better. I saw the chance to shoot and learn at the matches, and have some fun. I have been going to local matches for a couple years and have attended a couple two day matches. I just sold the action off of my "match" rifle, cause I won't be doing that as often, and can spin my match barrel onto another action if I feel the need.
I don't like the "games" of the PRS/NRL, I totally get all the criticisms of the haters. I hate the stupid stages, and usually don't even finish those cause I am so annoyed. I go to work on my skills, not win. I figure if I can make 5 shots in 90 seconds, I can make one very good shot in 90 seconds. And, the vast majority of people are really fun to meet and hang out with. I've made some friends shooting.
This year, I am going to try to make some of the NRL Hunter series matches. https://nrlhunter.org/
Who else shoots PRS/NRL?
Do you plan to shoot any of the NRL Hunter matches?
