Is it better to have fine or coarse teeth?

All the wood I'll be cutting with it is junk evergreens. Nothing hard like back east.

For the Silky saws, Coarse teeth will cut everything including oak, but the fine is definitely better in bone, if you want it to pull double duty.

I have both and agree with tdot. The fine will do better than most in dry wood and cut bone. The course tooth is as fast as a chainsaw.

Looking at Amazon descriptions, the 170mm Pocketboy w/ medium teeth is 2.39oz; the 180mm professional w/large teeth is 5.6oz. I ordered the 170mm pocketboy last night.

I’ve been using a Superior Fruit Pruning saw, it’s light and cuts like a dream. The steel is top quality. It’s Made in USA. It’s cheap too.
To me, the 8-1/2” Superior feels lighter than the 6” Silky.
You can also drill holes in the beach wood handle of the Superior if you want it lighter.

Are the weights just wrong?

I would like the curved blade large tooth one the most. Will probably cut the best.

This shows medium 170 at 7.2 oz, so I'm guessing that is a typo on amazon.

Pocketboy will do 3" thick with not much trouble. Bigboy will annihilate that stuff.

Big boy in picture, cut those lengths fairly quickly. Orange handle = large teeth.

Whatever a pocketboy weighs it will be worth having, that's the saw I use for whitetail hunting.

I'll weigh my 180, but it's worth it's weight. I carry it 100% if the time. I use it to clear shooting lanes all the time.

There is also a 130mm Pocketboy, its a bit of a pain in the arse for bigger wood, but for 3" and under it is only marginally slower then my 180mm, but smaller packing size and 2/3 the weight.
