Lifetime Hunting License?

I regret not purchasing one for every state I’ve lived in that offered them.

. He will only have to buy tags and even if he chooses to switch residency to another state (maybe college) he still gets resident pricing in Idaho for life.

He will be in the resident allocation pool and wont have to purchase a license but the tags will carry the NR pricing.

My father bought myself and my brothers one years ago In California. Definitely worth getting if you plan to stay in this state.

no worries, it's been 8 years for me. Makes sense, usually when things seem to good to be true they are. edited my original as to not spread misinformation.

Me and both my kids have ours for Tennessee. I cuss my dad often for not buying me mine as a kid. When I bought my kids their lifetime license it was $35 more than what I was paying for a single year. Wish we could get a lifetime waterfowl stamp too

I have my Arizona Lifetime. So convenient and I never have to worry about renewing every year. Best decision I’ve made in regards to hunting purchases.

For me it depends on the state and what it includes. If I can get all my tags every year I will buy one...I have WV and NC, got both as a R before I moved. I dont have one here in SC because last time I checked it didn't include big game, deer and turkey, or salt water. Just small game and freshwater fishing...what's the point of getting a lifetime license if I still have to go in every year and buy big game license. So I do the 3 yr combo license here in SC, they include big game.

Another word of warning like most laws it can be changed with the stroke of a pen...when I got my NC lifetime license you didn't need a saltwater recreation fishing license, wasnt required didnt exist...about 7 or so yrs after my purchase they implemented a saltwater license and did not make retro active...so now I have to buy a 10 day NR saltwater fishing license everytime I fish the NC coast, but I still get a bear tag every year so it works out.

i should look into that. ive had my life time since 1991 and thought most of that stuff was grandfathered in. then again in dont get to the NC coast to often

Dad bought me one as an infant in my home state- 200$. Has payed for itself multiple times over- and will really come in handy if ever move away.

Saw this and realized that if I moved out of state my license would still be good. Great to know. I always thought that if I moved I would have to apply as a non-resident.

It may depend on the state- but I believe mine does.

In Arizona, if I ever leave the state(I never will),I’d still be in the resident pool during the draw, but would have to pay the NR price if I draw a tag.

Bought lifetime licenses for my son and I before we moved out of Alabama. It’ll be a good excuse for us to take an annual out of state hunting trip together.

I got an Alabama lifetime license in 1989. $300 for hunting, freshwater and saltwater fishing.

My wife got me one in Indiana for our 5th anniversary, in 1998, and I haven't had to pay for a deer or turkey tag since. best $525 ever...

My grandparents sold their business property in 2000. They gave everyone in the family $500. The stipulations were that they didn't want us to "blow it" on food, alcohol, etc. But we had to spend it, not invest it or similar.

My dad and I kicked in the extra $25 each and bought lifetime comprehensive hunting licenses. I was 20 and drove to Indianapolis and bought them in person. Wrote a check for it right there in the state admin offices! Honestly it was something strange for me at 20.

Having that in my pocket kept me hunting through some lean years in college and early in my career/marriage. Not saying I would have given up hunting, but already having the tags/stamps sure made it easier to justify everything else related in the budget.
