Let’s Talk Watches

Eating alittle crow. Been about a week. Man I love this cheap thing lol. I wore my explorer a few times since getting it back from service and I can’t believe I’m saying this after owning that watch for 2 decades, I like the vaer better lol. Rolex is backed up in the safe. Not sure what I’m gunna do with it yet, prolly save it for the boy.

Date function is awesome but overall it just wears better since it’s on rubber. I’m gunna order the metal bracelet from them when it comes back in stock. Do a comparison. I can see me buying more of their watches.

Guess they have some new watches in the works as well, a 38 auto that has me attention.

I ordered a Long Island watch metal braclet for the citizen, should be here next week, will post on that. For the time being I’m gunna keep rocking this vaer, liking it more and more everyday. Has literally kept perfect time! Wild coming form the auto world.

To me a rubber strap is by far the most comfy, but I will say, you get a bracelet properly adjusted, 'whoa' the difference in how a watch wears. My BR is extremely comfy on a rubber strap and I wear it most days (its in for service at the moment).

I like this one:

And this one:

I picked up the Islander. It looks good and is so light I forget it’s there. Titanium/Solar combo is great for a field watch.

My everyday is a citizen my wife got me when we got married. I’ve been wanting to expand my collection but just not sure which way to go lol! I’ve been eyeing the Indiana Jones Boulton as a new office watch. It looks classy.

Look up the Long Island watch bracelets for those, he has a cult following. I’m waiting for the solid end link version for mine but ordered the straight end link universal for the time being, I’m pumped for it to show up.

I have a vaer and have wore it daily for years.
Love it.
Been thru 4-5 bands but I work outside daily running chainsaw, heavy equipment etc.
My next one will be a black bezel.

I really like this 24 hr watch. The rotating locking bezel is cool and functions as a GMT dial.

Worth noting that the GMT version the hour hand rotates in 12hr not 24 which IMO kinda defeats the purpose.

The only problem with 24hr analog watches is the resolution on the minute hand is poor. I live life on Zulu, so digital is by a tremendous margin more practical for me.

Sucks too, I love a mechanical watch.

So how is the minute hand on that watch resolution poor? The minute hand makes a full rev every 60 minutes just like a regular mechanical watch.

Got a new hunting gear watch coming a
Casio Pro Trek Men's Black Dial Triple Sensor Solar Powered PRG601-1-
I really don’t know if I will keep it as I thought it was atomic update! So I will be ordering a

ordered a baltany lol. 114270 is tucked away in the safe for the boy for his weeding day or graduation, etc.

I gotta have an explorer in the rotation. This baltany is prolly the best homage with modern updates. Milifortic being a close second but that’s a pure copy where the baltany is at least a homage with its own twist.

Will report once I get it. Op this will be another option for ya in your price range. Can’t wait to compare a 200 explorer homage to a 8k real one hahaha.
