Let’s Talk Watches

I have a plastic expedition that is probably 15 years old. A few battery changes and hasnt been used hard in 10 Years, but I wear it occasionally and it keeps dead nuts time. Ticks loud as hell too.

The loud ticking is my only “complaint” with the expeditions. They’re great otherwise!

Mine is outside in my shop and I think I can still hear it from my bedroom.

Its a great field watch. Its accurate and durable with a handy backlight function. What more does a man need in a watch?

I went through an automatic kick and it was cool. The eco drive I have on now seems to stay within a second of perfect for two months when the date needs adjusting. Saphirre glass and great lume to boot and was $350. Gshock 5610 has a radio sync function and is always dead nuts no matter what with some handy features for traveling (quick time zone adjust and built in alarm). My old $50 timex that survived my days lumberjacking is still ticking away...

Autos are cool and ill probably have another one day, but man this quartz solar stuff sure is nice.

I've got a non-sapphire eco drive where the glass sits lower than the highest metal part of the case, and it's basically scratch free despite the case being covered in dents and scratches. I wish more watches did this, it just seems structurally obvious for durability. I think it must be a style choice.
