The mesa Altitude I have on my Roughtech weighs 31.5oz. Thinking about swapping it.

How are the butt pads for recoil they look awful thin?

Not amazing, not awful. As you would expect. Better than a hard plastic, worse than 1" of plush rubber.

Bighorn Origin, 6.5 CM in a VG2. I got it a few months back and so far I really enjoy shooting with it. I opened up the ejection port, added a bit of paint and it was gtg. I did end up adding some texture to the grip and forend a few weeks ago, as the plain carbon finish is fairly slick.

Nope, no issues on mine.

I really like the vg2 stocks. They really help with recoil management and shoot ability compared to the factory stocks.

Called stockys they told me that it was because I didn’t have their bottom metal. Ordered theirs and it is doing the same thing. Ugh

That sucks. You could try a set of screws from Red Hawk Rifles. They are supposed to be slightly longer than factory length and trimmed to fit, if necessary. May be worth a try for $7. The Hawkins screws are also supposed to be longer than factory though, so that's odd. It could definitely be an inletting issue, so hopefully stocky's can make it right, if you can't find appropriate screws.

Does anyone have any ideas for a cheek riser? Prefer not to drill and have it look somewhat decent. Have no room to go lower on rings. Ordered an Anarchy Outdoor cheek pad for now but it wont be enough (1/8")

Screws are provided, but I would think you could find a way to affix one without drilling...

Actually just had a V2 700 delivered today. First impression is very good...not even sure what I'll end up doing with it. Wanted to see how it looked, and felt by comparison to all my Manners. Snagged it on the black friday sale and so far...seems legit for a light weight hunter build.

I have a full carbon 6.5 PRC in a Manners T4 I'm gonna pull the barreled action and drop in this. Then probably pick up a different carbon system for the Manners with a little more girthy barrel to fill the channel.

I have a plan for mine. I'm gonna do a kydex (already have it) that molds over top...and use heavy duty velcro on the inside for attachment. No hardware, and it'll be more of a "set it and forget it" type. Depending on how high I need it to be..it should allow a cleaning rod to slide underneath

i suppose I could. I think I got 2 pieces of kydex.
I'll do mine tonight and show you...mine is tan...but I'm gonna dip my stock and cheek piece when it's all said and done.
