Where the bottom metal inserts into the stockystock there was a small lip preventing it from fully seating. You just have to remove a very small lip. This also could have just been my experience.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I don’t have to worry about it now thanks to midway lol. I ended up getting him a Howa 1500 imma build off of, still using the vg2 stock. How do you like the stock?

The stock is great very light for an affordable price. Only complaint I have is one of the sling studs pulled out so I had to epoxy it back in.

I I’m pumped for them I ordered one for myself also I have a Howa 1500 barrel action I’m gunna drop in, I’m not to worried about the sling studs they’re coming out and rails are going in.

Just a quick load update: I tried 162eldm this week behind 4831sc. I’m getting 2800avg with a 20-inch barrel. I shot a .5moa 5-shot group and an SD of 12. I'm satisfied with this load for hunting.

filled my first tag for the 2025 season and first game for the 7prc. Smaller black bear but I’m happy as it’s my first bear.

I’ve been considering doing something similar but with the 7BC. I’ve been on the fence about building a savage, a tikka or getting a weatherby 307. The stockys vg does look really good all put together
