Being a resident I buy a PA hunting license every year regardless of whether I use it to hunt or not. It helps benefit the state lands. Fisherman are under similar pressures.

this post ties to so many other posts we see here. all of this is a double edge sword and also points to why we have no voice. western guys complain about overcrowding, tags and non res hunters but also agree we need more hunters. all of us complain about social media but then post pics and tips on a social media platform. we all agree it should be harder for people to hunt so long as it doesn't apply to us. it's a hard situation that we can't come together and agree on.
in my opinion, hunter #'s are up. I know what they say but the reality is I see more people in the woods across the country than I did 20yrs ago. one thing that doesn't lie is common sense. most of us here have kids and those kids hunt or will hunt (hopefully) so that is an obvious increase in hunters as our kids were not here before. also, we see a large # of young hunters and not all of their parents were hunters, again pointing to an increase.
it was said that it doesn't take large #'s to make change, and that's true, but it does take a united voice. we are very disconnected and never agree on anything. there's a reason we love being in the woods, we hate people lol, but at some point we will need to join forces and stop crying about pointless things like who's in my spot this year, and yes, I do that myself lol. as much as I hate media I still see the good it can bring. it opens our world to more people, it brings money to our sport and it makes it more mainstream which can stop antis from hurting us.
as for more access, absolutely. it disgusts me how much land is being taken from us. somewhere along the line people decided hunting is a privilege but it's not, it's our right to survive as god intended.
Actually I think this post is advocating that we don’t need more hunters… if you read the first couple posts.
It’s a gripe post, but who doesn’t love a good gripe? And it’s true even if we double or tripled our numbers we have no meaningful political voice. So the R’3 push gets old. It’s just for gear companies to sell more gear. What we need is more good habitat for our prey, and more access to that good habitat

Butttt brooo pint nights in boulder ;) don’t worry when you lose the right to shoot the most common .223 platform at coyotes, or you can’t hunt the sharp teeth in the state anymore. There will always be pint nights and shooting slingshots at grouse

So, you're saying virtual pints would have gotten you to show up for the GHCA policy meeting the other week????
