?? Kuiu ??

I owned pretty much all Kuiu gear for years then they started to blow up and apparently they couldn't keep to transparency commitment and any criticizing. The 1st gen tent that they pulled and would never address the issue was a huge lack of transparency. Along with anytime anyone said a SG or Kifaru pack was better on the Kuiu forum got instantly deleted and eventually ended with Kuiu shutting down their public forum. FYI I have owned all the packs and SG and Kifaru make the best frames and suspension period. In person all the Kuiu guys at say the SLC show were super nice in the beginning but as they grew so did the way they interacted with people at the shows from my experience. As for FL the Idaho hipster hunter movement is super annoying. But they have top notch CS and replaced boxers that had ripped for free no questions asked. Either way most my system is Sitka with some FL. As for attack pants I like them but the FL guide are a bit better. Or just rock the Sitka timberline pants which I love.

What on earth is the "Idaho hipster hunter movement"? Fl is out of my town and have no idea what that means? that's funny! please elaborate.

Haha that's funny, didn't know it was a hipster movement.....

^ I'm going to take a guess and say "ID Hipster Hunter Movement" = flat bill hat (likely Mtn Ops branded) and some combination of tank top and compression socks. Basically, it's a guy who looks like your standard bro, only he's NASCAR'd out with hunting brands and possibly compression socks. If you removed the hunting logos, he wouldn't be out of place on the Jersey Shore. Throw in a mustache and exchange the hunting logos for ironic labels, he wouldn't look out of place in Williamsburg.

Ok,that's funny! I'm going to look for these hipsters when I'm in town, they'll stand out like a sore thumb here.

Think ive seen a few of them wearing Kuiu and Under Armour too, maybe it has nothing to do with the brand....hmmm?

"Idaho Hunter Hipster Movement". Are you talking about Eric Chesser with HUSH? He's out of Utah but fits the description listed above. haha.

Haha this is getting comical.

All in all, at the end of the day we could easily turn this into the same argument as people do with bow brands but get what you think is gonna work for you, no company is perfect, Kenton over at FL isn't and neither is Jason at Kuiu but both owners and companies are the best in the business, to each their own, I love FL merino wool, their camo pattern and their Kanabs pants but I think the Kuiu's outerwear is little edge up over them. Sitka offers some great stuff too.

Good luck with the choices.

Hunting Hipster Power!!! Lol

Ha. I wear Prana Zion yoga pants, kuiu gaitors, First Lite 3/4 aerowool baselayer pants (new for this year), Under Armour synthetic baselayer top (not too bro'ish, more old school), Sitka Traverse mid layer, First Lite Stormtite rain jacket and kryptek poseidan rain pants.

My motto - from all the bros and hipsters, deer and elk, are now able to pick out vias in a hailstorm. So I add optifade, highlander and fusion just to confuse em :)

I called it a Idaho hunting Hipster Movement. Doesn't really have anything to do with FL, But they do make a 5 Panel Hat

Went to the FL office today and I'm impressed with what they had.I'm definitely going to get some merino fusion tops, the Kuiu tiburon and attack pants imo are slightly nicer than what FL offers but both are quality products.

Don't think you can go wrong with technical offerings from kuiu(minus pack carbon scares me), Sitka and first light. I'd stay away from UA though... They are getting closer but do think they have it just yet. Think cabelas instinct line is better then UA especially price point wise

I love my Prana Stretch Zion pants too. I thinking about getting a brown pair for hunting...

havent had a chance to actually wear my first lite merino yet , but when trying it on for a few minutes it did feel itchy/scratchy to me must be an issue for a few of us!
not sure where else to go now it was hands down everyone uses there wool

After washing it once and a few times wearing it, I can't feel any itchiness at all. Give it a little, I assure you anything with "wool" in it is gonna have some possible itchiness, heck even my incredibly soft SmartWool socks have a slight notice to them when initially putting them on but once you wear it around and sweat a little, all that goes away.

"Idaho hipster hunting movement" You guys are brutal. The only things we make that could fall under the hipster banner are the flat brim the 5 panel, Which i realize is a little hipster but still a great tech hunting hat, breathable, foldable, dries fast and the small guide pants. The smalls definitely taper a little more than the rest of the sizes, that being said having flappy pant legs leads to noise and snags so a little taper is a good thing. As a side note of the 13 people in the office only one owns skinny jeans and he gets a lot of grief, Allie does not count. KC
