I get such a kick out of internet personalities. I can't see loving or hating a company as much as everyone seems to with Kuiu.

I think it is more about the hate towards Jason.

I don't care for the guy, but I do like some of the Kuiu products & have always had great customer service from them (outside of product availability).

ribeye, sounds like a deal! But I only ship in special toray boxes, they're very expensive. I'll send you a bill for the toray packaging and postage, you send me payment and I'll get it shipped out....."it should be ready to ship within the week".....but don't be surprised if they don't arrive for a couple of months....you know.....overseas shipping and all.....😅

It would be totally different. Kryptec is owned by some real American heros and Kenton is as nice a man as you will meet. Both operate above board with total class. Night and day difference from Jason and Kuiu.

I'm not entirely sure why, but both of those companies have done similar things as Kuiu and have gotten passes for the majority of those things.

Kryptek with the Cedric hoodie fuzz and the "Altitude" line just recently.

First lite with their complete inability to properly size their pants until just recently, or their gaiters that were made for little kids ankles.

Kifaru rips stuff off the site all the time without warning, stuff that's been manufactured for longer than I've been a customer, no one says a word. Long pockets, Highcamps, bikini frames, scouts, and now the Xing.

EXO had ridiculous stock issues in the beginning.

Al these above mean nothing in the grand scheme of things but if it was Kuiu they would get crucified.

Both clothing companies above have also gone months without stock of certain items, but no one ever criticizes them.

This is coming from a guy who broke 2 icon frames In less than 6 months and really cannot stand a lot of kuiu's nonsense.

I get it, Jason rubs people the wrong way(including me) but if you take a second and step back what he has created is remarkable, I don't know a single company that shows its customers what it's working on, or coming out with in the future like Kuiu does. they have made some really bad missteps but some of you guys hate them like they stole your wife.

The NA to China switch
Terrible stock levels
Broken frames
Ridiculous censorship
Don peay nonsense
Leaky tent
Jason being a tool,

Maybe it's to many issues to overcome, or maybe people are way to sensitive about "clothing"... or just to sensitive.

But maybe I'm wrong as I'm obviously not as plugged in to the "industry" as you...

It is just this site with the immense hatred for Kuiu. They could give a million $ to cancer research, and guys on here would flame them for not giving enough.

I really want to try the Swazi Tahr Anorak but it's way too much money to get it here. I think paired with gaiters you can possibly go without rain pants.

Ya, definitely right on.

It's not just the long laundry list either, it's how it's all been dealt with:

The NA to China switch: Didn't tell anyone for weeks until people started getting Chinese stuff in the mail. Then even denied it for a while.
Terrible stock levels: Being told a 1-3 month wait then cancelling my order after 10 months for Attack Pants..
Broken frames: If you ask them they would say it's never happened!
Ridiculous censorship: Like the forum? Claimed it never happened for weeks. Then blamed it on an intern lol??
Don peay nonsense: Still denies it?
Leaky tent: Pretends like it never happened.. Just a good thing they didn't kill anybody

Even the Rokslide breakup was so immature over something so trivial and tongue-in-cheek..

I can vouch for the anorak, I agree a lot of money though. I was lucky to win one for a hunting article I wrote, definitely my favourite bit of gear!

Swazi are the best of it quality wise in my opinion (only have a couple of bits but love it)

Mens Outdoor Apparel | Hunting Clothing NZ | Swazi Outdoor Gear

I also use and quite like

Stoney Creek NZ (I have mostly Stoney Creek gear - bit cheaper than Swazi)

Stoney Creek - Stoney Creek - Hunting, Rural, Lifestyle and Safety gear.

Aussie wise I use Moroka30 (not the most durable gear I've owned but still very nice)

508 Resource Limit Is Reached

Also people here rave about TUSX, I've got mates that swear by it though I don't own any. It's mostly aimed at the archery market.

The comments on the frames and tents are arguably libelous. You are lucky Kuiu isn't prone to suing. Oh, wait....

I kind of understand all the dislike towards Kuiu... But, the Eastmans' are some of the biggest hypocrites I've seen in the hunting industry. In fact, they just permanently banned me from their forum for sharing this link. When I go visit that page, I get this message:

You have been banned for the following reason:
Posting derogatory toward Eastmans
Date the ban will be lifted: Never

I thought they might want to tell their side of the story but I guess not.

Yeah I haven't been a fan of them for years.

What I don't understand is why they can't be humble and admit to a failure, I'd respect them more for that. All companies have failures, how they overcome them is what matters.

Good thing he would have a dozen or so expert witnesses from rokslide alone to testify :). Plus all the actual pictures floating around.

Denial of product failure wouldn't be conveyed in a picture. I don't think you understand the point.

No but it covers the guys statement you quoted. Unless you work for Kuiu or directly had a denial you are correct that is hard to verify but his statement was pretty generic and really only says they act like (denial) they never had frames break or issues not that they denied replacing broken frames that fell under warranty.

I bet they replaced every broken frame, how many we'll never know, that was within their warranty coverage. I would assume that goes for every item they sell.

I would be curious to know how the Eastman circulations #s were leaked. Since only the company itself would know those numbers and Linley hold any actual numbers (vs touted numbers) tightly, it would seem that someone internally must have leaked that info or Cc'd the wrong person on an email, which I've had happen before working in a unrelated industry.
