Kuiu Icon Pro 7200

I have used all three, but I won't post a review. There are a few people on here that will just start bashing Kuiu and I don't care to be involved in those types of threads anymore. Those people have reportedly been talked too, but I still see the same non sense from them.

I put my phone number in an above post and will be glad to talk to any of you about the packs.

Well that makes sense, I appreciate the more honest reasoning than the "I don't wanna type it on my phone" :)

I have been running this pack since Sept. Packed out 3 bull elk and a small bear with it. Heaviest load around 100lbs. Very happy with it so far. I bought the 7200 and 1850 bag. I have just used the 1850 bag so far. Waist and shoulder straps are very comfortable and easy to adjust. Pack rides nicely on the hips with heavy loads. Great organized pocket arrangement. Only complaint is a slight squeaking noise from the load lifter straps. Will fix this shortly. Hate to say it but it rides better then my old SG.

Randy Johnson posted this review.

I have been researching new packs for a while and hope to have it by spring bear season. I have narrowed it down to mystery ranch and stone glacier. "I like to keep things local" kuiu got my attention because the price and if it measures up to those I could be swayed. I could get a icon pro 1850 and a 5200 for the price of a mr longbow or sg solo.

I feel everyone makes a good pack at the 40-50 lbs range my biggest concern is comfort and stability when you are really loaded down. I'll be giving rosin a call

I have a Icon Pro 5200 and like it a lot. I have had it loaded to 70# for training and it carried the weight fine with no shifting or sagging. I did not get to haul any meat in it this year, but it rode very well at about 40ish pounds during my hunt. My pack wasn't loaded up super heavy, but we were in some pretty steep terrain with loose rock and it stayed close to my back with no balance issues. The pack fits me very well and I get zero slip of the waist belt. My impression of the waist belt is that it is very solid. I experienced no squeaking noise either, my pack doesn't make any noise. Not sure if body type matters, but I my be a little thicker than some, as I am about 5'10" and about 210. I carried my 3L water bladder in an Exo bladder holder inside the pack against the back panel rather than in an internal side pocket. Also, I carried my rifle in a Kiraru gun bearer and it worked fine with my pack

I'd like to hear some reviews too, but will also wait until you can post it up here. Anybody use the ultra and the icon pro? curious how the two compare.

Yes, sold the ultra due to a couple issues. 1. hated the clips 2. not durable, two side loops started to rip off, did get a replacement bag for free 3. Did not carry loads over 60-70 very comfortably for me

What are your thoughts about the 5200 vs. the 7200? I do not think that I want to take an extra bag in the back country, so I would be using it as a day pack from camp as well. The last thing I would want to do is go in with a maxed out pack, kill something, and not have room to carry it out. Does the 7200 cinch down for a doable day pack, or would it be too floppy? ect? Thanks!

There is very little noticeable difference between the 7200 and the 5200. A couple inches each way and a longer snow collar on the 7200. When cinched down you'd be hard pressed to tell which on is bigger. They both cinch well for use as day packs and the lid is easily detachable which makes an even nicer daypack. If your serious I would jump on the 7200 that Rosinbag has in the classifieds, I doubt if you'll ever find a better deal.

I think a little different. I think the 7200 is bigger by far. It is longer, wider and has a bigger circumference along with the taller snow collar. The both cinch down about the same for day pack mode. If the 5200 is a close call for you, I would go with the 7200.
