For those that have used both which do you prefer and why. Looking to pick up a new pair of pants and was pretty much set on the attacks because of all the good reviews. Looking on their website I saw the Chinook and thought it looked like a better pant.

Use for archery elk. Have used Mountain pants and Kryptek Alaios and like things about both. Not a fan of the U/L pants like the Ascent or Vallahalla.

Also take a look at the new Kuiu Alpines if you haven't already. I'm in the hunt for some new pants too and was pretty set on the attacks but I think I might go with the Alpines instead!

Not a fan of built in kneepads. I liked those as well until I saw they were sewn in. Guess the Chinook's have that as well. Looks like the Attack will be it.

Anyone know how they fit compared to Sitka or Kryptek?

I have the Attacks and Chinooks...I rarely wear my Attacks anymore. The Chinooks are my "do all" pants now. To me they fit a little more generous than the Sitka Timberlines or Kryptek pants. In Sitka and Kryptek, I wear a size larger than my Attacks and Chinooks. Don't let the knee pads bother you, I don't even notice them in mine as there isn't much to them.

Kota how is the warmth comparison between the attacks and chinooks. The attacks can get a touch to hot for me, especially in high exertion periods.

Being from Arizona, the Chinooks are better in colder weather. I ran mine up to 80 degrees, vents open and was warm. Breath well, but probably best suited for under 70 or so. I like the fit, finish and function. I had a hard time not pulling the trigger on another pair, but I am going to pre order the Alpine, love built in knee pads. Arizona, rips up clothes and the Tiburons would do good up north, but want a more versatile pant, so will try the Alpines.

Same trip I wore the First Lite Kanabs, and they were much cooler than the Chinooks.

I have a Chinook jacket on backorder in XXL, and ordered a XXXL today to try on some of the new jackets for layering. Should be a fun few weeks.

So the Chinooks have side vents? I didn't see vents listed, but I may've just read it too fast.

yep about 6 or 8 inches long... trying to remember and I wont be back to measure/pictures for about a week.
