My understanding is that Karl Kampfeld can do it that way. I had UM cut my 6.5 CM T3X lite to 20" and they had to thread it 1/2-28. I don't mind that. So long as you have a good adapter, it is not a big issue. It can be an issue if your adapter sucks.

I sent my T3 .223 and .25-06 off to get the barrels cut and threaded by Silencer Central. They appealed to me because the good local gunsmith is about 2.5 hours round trip and has a 2-3 month backlog.

I ordered the box for two rifles. They sent it to me. It arrived promptly with two soft gun cases and an appropriate sized box for the two rifles to fit snuggly. My rifles got to them on August 8. I got them back today. Both rifles look like first class jobs to me. Everything was clean and crisp.
