I own the old alpine pants. What new pants are on the market that are similar? I have no brand preferences.

I remember those as a thinner attack pant without dwr, knee pads and double cargo pockets. Probably the the Kuiu pro pant if you want knee pads or the kutana for a more similar material. Not sure about other brands.

This is correct. Pro if you want knee pads or Kutana if you don't.

Agree with the two above. Pro is basically an attack with knee pads so will be thicker material and warmer than Alpine. Kutana would be most equivalent thickness and weight performance but they are much better. I always felt cool and clammy in my alpines so I sold them after one season.

The new Argali are similar in thickness with a lot of things to like but several that bug me.

SG Dehavilland lite are a good performing pant and I think have a knee pad pocket.

If the kutana fit you they are THE pant for milder conditions up to hot weather in my opinion. They don’t fit my thighs so I’ve been on the search for years and it’s still ongoing.
