Guard Pants Vs Traverse Pants

I have a pair of mountain pants but I want to get a pair of pants in the new cover pattern and was wondering if I should buy the traverse or last year’s guard pants since it’s on sale. The mountain pants can get warm sometimes turkey hunting.
