Thank you very much, this is great to see. Is that CTR the 24” version? If so how is the balance in the echo?
It’s the 24” version chopped to 23” to get rid of the threaded portion. Balance is forward but not overly so. I’d say perfect for a rifle that will be used solely from a rest.

The mag retention spring is captured/held by the screw that holds the trigger to the bottom of the action.

Here you can see it with the mag removed:

Here you can see it attached to the trigger. It’s that little piece of spring steel being held by the trigger screw.

Thank you sir, very helpful! I’m betting my 20” CTR would balance very well then.

Thanks for including the scale photos. Looks like you have a similar setup to me (Tikka CTR in a bravo).

From the photos, looks like the bravo in a CTR and comes in at 3 pounds 8 oz with a CTR mag, whereas going to the Echo with 5 round mag you’re at 2 pounds 14 oz.

After the reports of issues with CTR mags at the S2H class, I’m thinking of swapping my Bravo to an Echo with the CTR barreled action (it’s a 20” 6.5 creedmore) to use factory tikka mags.

Any thoughts on switching from the CTR bravo to the echo since you seem to have done the same thing?
Another option is to just use AICS pattern mags. The metal MDTs work well, as do the poly body / metal lips mags. All-poly have had some issues.

I've read (but haven't confirmed) that the Sako TRG mags fit the CTR bottom metal, but are better quality and have fewer issues. No idea if this is true or just internettery.

Any of you guys with Echo stocks in-hand have updated feedback after some more use? I'm debating pulling the trigger on one to be able to use for some NRL hunter matches this spring.

Pretty much the same as Bravo for me so far, which is to say I'm happy with it. I took out the barrel channel insert and plenty of room around barrel. I do not have any plates/rails on it, so no feedback on shooting off tripod/bipod

You may consider the bravo for shooting NRL because you can use 10 round aics mags. the echo would be fine but your limited on the mag I think

Understood. They will be my first matches, so I'm just planning on skills division. I figured I'd be a little handicapped by running 4-rd factory mags, but I'd rather have that setup than being forced to run AICS mags during hunting season and don't have the budget for two stocks currently.

I put the short ARCA rail on mine in front of the mag well. I shot it off my tripod Wednesday afternoon. It balances well, and is easy to shoot. I went 5 for 5 on a mini IPSC at 500 seated with my 308 and Hornady Black 168 ammo. If you’re going to compete, you would be better off with a Bravo and 10 round AI pattern mags.
