Kowa 501/02

Does anyone out there have any firsthand experience with these, less exciting but far more affordable spotters from Kowa?

Mainly looking for head to head comparisons with the Razor 50, ED50, and Opticron models. I had a 601 for a while that was a good and very serviceable but left me with memories of soft images due to noticeable CA. Though I have a feeling most of those negative memories were at magnifications above the 40x of the 500 series so it might be an issue.
