Anyone shoot sub MOA with the Hornady Superformance loads out of a Kimber chambered in .270?

Only found one review online, a guy couldn't get his .270 MA to shoot under a couple inches with 130s in the Superformance line.

Contemplating picking up another "last gun" and the .270 throwing 130s at 3200 fps would make a mighty fine muley setup.

I find it funny that you posted this because just last week I picked up a box of that exact bullet to try out of my Kimber Mountain Ascent.

Needless to say, they shot like total shit. I can easily get sub MOA, all day long with this rifle, using 130 gr. Barnes tipped TSX BT's. I fired four rounds of the Hornady's, with about a 4-4 1/2" group, then proceeded to shoot four rounds of the Barnes, and made one elongated hole.
I honestly think that I couldn't shoot a worse group with my eyes closed then what I did with those Hornady's. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money. If I could ship these through the Postal Service, I would send them to you for free, just so you could see for yourself.

With Hornady

All 130 grainers, and these types of patterns were all consistent.

Dammit that's what I didn't want to hear haha. I've heard those rifles are finicky but 4" is flat out unacceptable. What's the hottest handload you've got Trout? Anything that matches that Superformance stuff?

4" was probably an exaggeration, but definitely 2-2.5". I just bought the rifle a few months ago and haven't even picked up dies for it yet. Those 3 types of ammo are all that have been down the tube, probably about 80 rounds, give or take, so far.

Thanks Trout I'll keep in touch once you get reloading for that puppy. That's not the rifle that jammed on you up on Kodiak is it?

No, it isn't. It was a .280AI Montana that I took to Kodiak, but I figured that issue out also. When loading the last round into the mag, if I'm not careful, it will get pinched under the lip of the receiver (if that makes sense). Anyway, if I pay attention, it's easily avoidable and feeds fine.

Not a .270 but my Montana in 7-08 did not like the Hornady rounds at all. I was all over the place. She settled right down with Nosler Accubonds though.

tried it in my Hunter 6.5 CM, shot like crap while 3 other factory options weren't one holers but a whole lot better and handloads better yet

:( wonder why the Kimbers don't like those loads, what a bummer

I have had great success using Hornady SST's when I reload for a blot of my hunting rifles.

For some reason, I have a custom built .284 that had been a 1/2" rifle till I loaded some with SST's. Same primer, cases and powder. The best that I could get was a large 2" group?

Go figure.
