My daughter killed a cow elk this year with a 7 prc surprised it didn't recoil to much for her and cause a miss......

550 lb wild boar in Europe. Shot with an outfitter provided 300 H&H and a 250 grain A Frame.

Why didn't they provide me with a 243 that is "easier to shoot?" Its not allowed. Why? tTheir experience is they don't penetrate well enough to kill...especially if it hits the shoulder bone.

Its a beautiful place. The Hunting Consortium set it up at SCI for us.

Epic lodge, epic meals, girlfriend came, amazing rituals before and after the hunt...don't get me wrong, 10 days in a 2 man tent chasing elk is big fun.

So is having a shower and a great meal while seeing a great hunting culture.

Try it someday. Or not.

I guess I should revive all of the dead pigs I have left laying around TX, GA, and SC that I killed with my 223 and tell them they shouldn’t be dead because contrary to them actually being dead, the bullet should not have penetrated their shoulders.

And yes, before you ask, quite a few of them were 300+ in weight

i couldn't begin to count how many pigs I've killed and watched others forever nap with 223's. Big and small we kill them all. we have pigs like we have mosquitos here in South Georgia.

Hahaha! I try not to be, but late season tags are pretty hard to get! I normally hunt shitty general tags, which are normally during October. But I’ve spent a few dozen nights packed in in the snow as well.

Doe #1: 55 yds shot on the move, dropped like a sack of potatoes. Quartering away, bullet recovered under hide on off side shoulder. Gutted this one, no pics due to light and a long drag, but lungs and heart were turned to mush.

Bullet experienced jacket-core separation during upset.





Doe #2:
Tracked for two miles, then ran back down its own trail towards us. Shot caught on camera but can’t insert for some reason. Shot was 40 yds, frontal presentation. Jumped about 6 feet in the air, then ran 30 yds and piled up. This one was quartered, front left quarter was tuned to burger, heart and lungs destroyed. Jacket fragments present in damaged quarter and vital area.
