Sh** happens in the real world of hunting if we video it or not. Be a moral, ethical hunter and try your best to recover whatever animal you are hunting! Anytime you post a video you will have people critique and criticize something in that video, that’s human nature. We all just have to try our best in the hunt and recovery. If we do that, then that’s all anyone can truly ask for and we put on our big boy pants and move on to the next hunt. Learn from our successes and failures!

Hell some people would probably think the way I hunt is wrong.. In certain parts of VA, there is zero daily limit on number of whitetail does you can take. Your only limit is how many tags you have.. You can buy a lot of bonus doe tags.. My friends father probably bought 15 of them about 7 years ago because he's retired. I generally fill all of my doe tags in 1 or 2 days of doe hunting because its more efficient use of my time. Last season I knocked 3 does down in 4 minutes. All the meat went to my freezer but "OMG he killed sooo many deerz"

I'll be honest... for me, hunting is about putting meat on my table and I enjoy it. Its more expensive to hunt 5 days and shoot 5 deer than it is to shoot 5 deer in 1 day and I'm allowed to do such a thing in my part of VA

Listened to Kifaru cast’s lates pod this morning, they did a great job at explaining and recognizing the mistakes made. Good on them for it.
Aaron explained how goat hunting really is, expect to turn down a shot, because it happens a lot.

Question for guy/gals that have hunted Mt Goats more than once or twice. I hear two different camps, some say MT Goats are a PIA to hunt others claim to walk right up and club them. I'm guessing, it depends on location?? Don't know I've never hunted goats.

I've never hunted them. I would guess it depends on how much they are hunted. The ones in Olympic National Park were hand fed pests before removal. The ones I have seen in Oregon were not very wary of humans. Even in areas they are hunted. I suspect ares where they are heavily hunted they are tough to get close to.

I listened to the podcast. My take away from this thread and that podcast is that folks need to relax a bit and take some things for granted. I couldn't imagine that group of people not doing everything within their power to recover an animal, especially with a dang camera running.

We have lost animals. It sucks, but we don't hang our heads in shame or shed real tears over it. If it was filmed it would probably look like we don't care, but in reality we are just pretty stoic people, not heartless.

I took three shots on a rat with a pellet gun, 30yds, ended up wounding the thing, had to dig it out of a hole, then while it was still alive, my Jagdterrier, killed the life out of the poor creature for another five minutes, left it in two pieces, guts everywhere…
I chose not to release the footage, for fear of unethical practice, on the part of the rat.
I feel Frank got pooched in Alaska, shit happens.

Man, the kifaru guys are taking the criticism pretty poorly. The podcast, youtube comments, and memes are worse than the video itself. They drew massive attention to a thread a couple thousand people, maybe, ever saw, and made themselves sound like victims of some egregious crime.

I think the memes fit the situation very well. Bunch of drama loving keyboard warriors gleefully willing to crap on other hunters publicly to virtue signal what ethical sportsman they are.
We as a group do a fantastic job of fighting and criticizing amongst our ranks, Anti’s love it.

i think a lot of people are just looking for a reason to get offended these days.... how many people do you think went out of their way to watch the video after the original thread got going? i bet a bunch, just how people are....

any company that has a following like kifaru also has the haters, most which have no to little experience with anything they make.... stuff like this won't effect them in any way, just makes those haters vocal for a minute... i figure most would assume they put a lot of effort into getting that goat considering who it was hunting, i know i did.

seems like you would have to go out of your way to think they didn't care and were just taking crazy shots and not following up. peeps love them some drama tho!!
