Tough to find any reviews on the Quandary. I’m interested in anybody’s thoughts, pros and cons? I Currently have a Doorgunner but I think it’s a little overkill for a day pack

I have one but I honestly don't use it very often. I use it more for mountain biking than anything else. It's a quality product, I just prefer other options for most activities as they typically provide easier access to things. I generally use a Hellcat or a Shape Charge for most hiking, a Wingworks vest for upland and I have an Exo 2000 on a Kifaru frame for day hunts for big game as I want to have the frame for packing meat when I get something down. I guess it depends on how you want to use it. For me it's a nice hydration pack that can expand a bit when I need to pack some layers but it will never be my go to day hunting pack. If you have any specific questions let me know.

Thanks for the response! I do a lot of mountain biking and that’s exactly what I thought the quandary would work great for, I’ve tried to use the Doorgunner while riding but It just doesnt work for me. I mostly whitetail hunt along with spot and stalk and some small game, so i don’t need to carry a lot of gear.

I guess I feel like the quandary would tick a lot of boxes for me, and it’s a little lighter in weight than the doorgunner. The Layout on the doorgunner is great, I wish they’d make it in a 2000-2500ci bag.

I know theres never going to be a “one bag does all” lol

Yes, I do like it for longer mountain bike rides. It may be a good fit for you in the uses you describe.

The Quandary came about for when I was commuting by bike. Big enough for what you need and the sleeve below the front zipper is sized to fit a Kryptonite Fahgetaboutit U lock with the roll up part of the lid going over the front to keep the lock in. If you have to pick something up on the way home or add a layer you can un-zip the expansion panel. Unfortunately it's not set up for the Sherman since it came before it. One can probably be rigged on using the top and bottom tabs on the back for using the pack as a lid.

I know it’s a long time since you posted this. Would you want to sell the quandary if you still have it?

I still have it but have no plans to sell it. I still use it for mountain biking here and there and really like it for that.
