Kifaru - Disappointment

This is a touchy subject and I think both parties are in the wrong. I think Kenneth’s answer is a little distasteful. I understand you’re sticking up for your customer service employees but you put the OP “on blast” just as much as he did you. I’ve had emails about warranty not returned from kifaru as well. Was it on my end or theirs??? Who knows, it happens. I know if I really need to get ahold of you I’ll pick up the phone and call. It’s too easy to get offended and offensive through your keyboard.

One reason I'm a customer of Kifaru has been the customer service. Only you and Kifaru know the real story but I've had nothing but good service from them. They expedited a couple packs for my Dad and I years ago and that has kept me a customer.

If the service was that bad, after about 4 emails, I say screw it and go to a tarp shop in the area and have them sew it on right.

I call BS on the OP

Maybe this dude fell through the cracks while they were hyping their next big wallet drop?
It’s hysterical how these fanboys get all twisted! It’s fun to read.

By "fanboy", I presume you mean people with actual experience and an informed opinion on Kifaru's customer service? Guessing you are not one? I've only had to use it once in the 15-20 years I have owned Kifaru products, but when I did it was excellent.

BTW, what is the opposite of "fanboy"? Figured you would know.

One thing threads like this have taught me is, while there are some bad companies. there are also bad customers.

I had a bad experience with them 5-6 years ago that was similar in that they bad mouthed me and basically blamed me for their mistakes because I complained publicly. It was enough for me to never make purchases from them again and Aron Snyder himself talked down to me here on rokslide for having the audacity to not be thrilled with the company.

That was enough to make me sell off my kifaru stuff and look elsewhere. The fact of the matter is that kifaru is no longer standing alone at the top of the gear pile and talking down to customers no matter the situation is a bad move for business. When people spend a thousand dollars on a back pack they should not expect to have a company making accusatory forum posts about them.

For reference, I switched to stone glacier and have nothing but high praise for their customer service, they recently replaced the belt of a 5 year old gram on warranty with no questions asked. I’ll be recommending them to anybody who asks from here on out.

I just want to say thank you to every one that supports Kifaru. And doesn’t put Kifaru on Blast for no reason at all. Our Customer Service works hard and always answers emails and tickets that are sent in. And answers the phone when called upon. If you don’t answer a email that we send you. It is not our fault. Just know that our customer service are Americans and work just has hard as anyone in the building. To see them get blame for them doing nothing wrong, is disappointing to see.
Serious question but with all the quality backpack out there these days for you to compete with you must realize that you aren't the only choice. Do you think talking like this to a paying customer is appropriate??? Regardless of what they said, I’ve now talked to 3 people in person who are looking to change packs and won’t buy from you guys based on that one post.

Your business so do what you please but there are lots of other companies out there that won’t speak to people that way much less make forum posts like that.

I find it interesting because Kifaru has not made a good impression on me (though I have no bad experience with them personally), but the OP does not win my trust with how he has handled himself on this thread, having no real evidence for or against either party, I'm inclind to say the OP screwed up, which is why he has not provided copies of emails and such. The fact that his only public postings are in this thread gives me lots of reasons not to trust him.

So, I find myself coming down on Kifaru's side. Not because I don't think Kifaru might handle things poorly, but because the OP has no credibility and was quick to bow out.

@thinhorn_AK does have credibility and behavior I have seen from Kifaru makes me think they probably do handle things poorly at times.
