Anyone have these? Worried about the waterproofing like every other non leather boot...will it fail?

Are these robust enough for Elk hunting?

I've had two pair the last few years. Extremely comfortable shoe, right out of the box. Waterproof properties were sketchy in both pair out of the gate. Also noted was the delamination of the sole in the heel area. I truly hate to say it, as they are comfortable and I want them to last but they are not worth the money they are asking in my opinion.

I bought a pair in 2013 and very comfortable. I trained with them all summer and then wore them on an AZ elk hunt. I really like the light weight and soft quiet sole while hunting in the dry rocky terrain of the SW. the waterproofing isn’t. I would say they are water resistant and start leaking after a couple hours of being wet. They are best for light pack trips and run and gun style of hunting. I wore them in CO at 10-12k feet with a heavy pack and they didn’t provide enough support IMO.

I had a pair of the Bridger Ridge High that I wore to work for about a week. They offered no support, and I felt every rock and pebble I stepped on when walking through the parking lot at work. If you have heel spurs, forget about the Bridgers. Even with aftermarket insoles, my feet hurt like H*LL !! I kept them at home to wear around the house, and after a month, donated them to the "Habitat for Humanity" donation box located in front of my local Super Market. As far as waterproof, I didn't have a chance to check them out in wet conditions.

After the Bridgers, I bought a pair of the Salomon Quest 4D GTX, and love them. I soon bought another pair. I keep them treated with Kiwi Protect-All (as recommended by the Salomon CS lady on the phone)and they seem to be waterproof. They can be found on sale for a lower price than the Kenetrek Bridger (Midway USA had them on sale last week). A much better boot than the Kenetrek in my opinion.
