I am in desperate need of a new pair of leather hunting boots for high millage warmer weather hunting and are cursed with size 14 XW or XXW feet and HAIX boot company came up in my search and they make advertised as 100% waterproof boots and was wondering if anyone here knows anything about HAIX boots as they make a lot of boots in my size. Link to their WS. They specialize in making boots for LEO's firemen 1st responders and the military.

There was a period where every type 1 wlff (and the wannabes) seemed to be wearing Haix. Never wore them myself, but they had a big following.

I’ve worn them for fire boots and station work boots. I don’t know that I would want to hunt in them but good quality boots.

I’d second the above, they’re pretty well made.
OP, I think the unfortunate reality (as you no doubt know) is that you are in the “Sasquatch Zone”, meaning that special orders are going to be the norm. It’s probably worth reaching out to companies like kenetrek, crispy, etc and see if they can help you out. It would be better to do that, than try to make a set of station boots work and pray.
Additionally, given your specified use, look at the trail running shoe companies, might get lucky

I've worn a set at work for 5 + years (structural fire fighting). They are the best firefighting boots made that I'm aware of, and they are a fantastic company to deal with. Before them I had a set of Globes that didn't make it 3 years and a set of Thorogoods that didn't last real long, either.

I did buy a set of hiking boots from them maybe 2 years ago. Well built boots, but can't say how comfortable they are; haven't worn them much. Still using up a few older sets of hiking boots I have.

We got them for fire. I didn't like them. They made my feet and knees hurt after wearing them all day at the station. That said they got put through a lot as we wore them on wildland fires too and they held up. I don't think I saw anyone have a failure on them.

Ours required a pretty long break in period for a lot of guys. Once mine were good and broke in I put an aftermarket set of pads in them. Even for longer training sessions, we don't have them on for long periods like the wildland guys. We also don't use turn out boots and pants on EMS runs like some cities do.

I went through a set of station boots, they lasted 2.5 years of duty use, which is better than most. I felt they were a decent quality boot.

If you can get the lower height/originals I liked those better. I have wore out several pairs fighting fire. I've worn through whites and kenetreks and all of the rest. Haix were my favorite.

I ran the missoulas for many years on a hotshot crew. No other boot on the crew lasted as long, except for logger style boots ie whites etc. I would get a new pair every season because they would develop a little slop by the end of a season, but they were still structurally sound.

I've been running their station/wildland boot for about 10yrs now. They seem to hold up well for the day to day and brush/grass fires. They are comfortable. I did try one of their hiking/work boots and were nice quality but a little tight in the toe box.

Great thanks for all the replies. As I said I am trying to get a 100% waterproof leather boot that will last more than 2-3 years of limited use and are considering all boot options.
