Well just finished five days of turkey hunting. Averaged 9 miles a day and by day two my 30 year old made in USA for Cabela's Outfitter series 10" leather boot was leaking badly and feet were soaked. Switched over to my 100% rubber boots and were OK for 2-3 miles but by end of day one feet were no where near as happy as when in leather boots and good lord forgot how heavy 16" and 18" La Crosse boots actually are.
But I have a problem when it comes to boots. I take a 14 XXW so that drastically narrows my choices in boots. I am looking to buy a pair of wormer weather HIGH activity hunting boots. I already have more severe cold weather stand boots than I can ever wear out.
So I am ready for a new pair of absolutely 100% waterproof leather boots. Decided I'd go top shelf and so far ONLY all or mostly all leather advertised as waterproof boots I can find in 14XW are Danner and Schnee boots. As I take exceptionally good care of my boots one could say I even obsess over boot care, at my age these will likely be my last hunting boot purchase as I already have some of the best cold and extremely cold weather hunting boots you can buy.
I would like people who own Schnee and Danner boots to please give me their recommendations on which boots they owned were comfortable and 100% waterproof.
