Been a JRE podcast listener for a minute and generally consider him to be a pretty self aware dude who has taken a lot of difficult stances on very public issues over the last few years. So how does someone like that end up supporting arguably the most infamous poacher influencer in history? Bowmar's convictions, lawsuits against meme pages and wildlife related stunts are all public record- I don't know anyone who doesn't consider him a total joke. Just shocking to see such a big name giving that guy the attention he wants.

He doesn’t have a clue about hunting nor really anything he talks about. Maybe with the exception of UFC.

I like his podcasts but realized he seems knowledgeable and well rounded because he speaks with confidence and authority in subjects that he really doesn’t have the expertise to substantiate. Once he started taking about hunting it became pretty apparent. Not a dig or anything by any means.

Asks a lot of important questions. Just not anything about the criminal background of people he supports, apparently

Terrible dude but a great broadhead

Two things can be true at the same time. I've never used the broadhead personally but it sounds like they're good

Has OP considered the fact that JR has probably never heard of Bowmar? I'm sure one of the hunting celebrities told JR that he should try Beast heads and he bought them.

Could be. A shoutout like that on one of his posts is worth as much as the downpayment on a house, though- usually some level of familiarity with the brands they're promoting. Who knows really

I'm sure I'm not the only guy at this point that pays no regard to influencers and their successful "elk hunts" nowadays. Paying a zillion dollars to shoot a trophy animal on private land means nothing to me. He's a good and committed archer from what I've heard, but I give zero engagement to him, or Cam Hanes, or Bowmar, or Rinella, or any other influencers/personality or page posting their "bull down" content. It just simply doesn't mean anything to me. If they posted a pic of a raghorn I'd probably be much more likely to engage.

I haven't listened much since college, but to roughly quote the guy, "don't listen to me, I'm an idiot"

But yeah, I'd guess he just bought a broadhead Cam Hanes or similar told him to use.

Okay Joe is great at BSing, he will talk to anyone. He is knowledgeable about comedy and the UFC and talks to lots of interesting people. The dude doesn’t know his ass from a wet hole in the ground when it comes to hunting. Dude got dragged along and hand fed to get into the lifestyle would call him a useful idiot when it comes to hunting… doubt he knows anything about bowmar outside of han cames gave him some free broadheads or something

I'm a Bowmar hater as well, through and through, but the broadheads are top tier. Ultimately, we all aim for the quickest and most efficient kills possible, whether you source the broadhead to achieve that from Bowmar, Ironwill, Sevr, etc. is up to the individual.

Lusk is the golden standard for COMPOUND broadhead testing as far as I'm concerned, and they're one of the best broadheads he's ever tested.

Maybe if they go broke from one of their numerous lawsuits someone else can get the design

I don't think he owns a tent, probably no pack larger than a day pack either lol, i'm sure if he did he would be sure to tag them in the post

Don't quote me but I'm pretty sure I heard him mention something about Exo packs not too long ago.
