I’d say close to all the trainers I have met and the outfit I sent my dogs to get force fetched at do this with every dog.
I would let recommend doing this in your own unless you have some good guidance firm a trainer or an outfit. If not done properly, it can ruin a bird dog.
Like everything with bird dogs, every one and trainer is gonna have different opinions. Whatever works best for your dogs is all that matters.
