Is this solid color to light for archery elk?

I picked up a sun hoodie on sale at Duluth Trading for fishing and general wear in the summer.
It fits me really well and I’m wondering if it could be used for early season archery elk? The color Duluth calls it is ‘Gray Khaki’… but wonder if it’s too light of a shade?
Here’s some pics of it next to my Ranger Green K4, a Sitka Heavyweight hoody in Coyote, and my grey SC Grumman

depends on terrain you hunt honestly - dark timber that could be super light.....aspens and sage could be perfect.

Not sure I would worry a ton over it to be honest.

I got 50 yards from a herd of cows on a muzzleloader hunt two years ago wearing a crimson hoodie. Wouldn't worry about it too much.

from what I understand about ungulate vision, Red/Orange/ Yellow show up as a shades of gray to them, so wearing crimson would be just fine I assume.

I’m probably way over thinking this lol

In just really like the fit of this top… a lot of hoodies like this, I don’t like they way they lay on me. I’m not really tall so the SG hoodies are way too long. Sitka hoodies fit a litte bit better. Kuhl sun hoodies in XXL are still to tight in the chest.

Plus I got this one on sale for $38, so it was way cheaper than the others lol

Hard to tell in the pics. Seems like that shirt might look darn near like a big white blob to an elk. You gotta decide if you are ok with that. I wouldn't be. But that's just me. I'm not a 100% camo guy, but I am a match the shades of the stuff I'm hunting in guy.

I think by the time that you wear down the shiny new sheen and put on a backpack/binoculars, it would be fine.

Like Wyatt said, sage and aspens. It would probably stand out in dark timber somewhat.

If would like to think that if crimson appears as a shade of gray… then “gray khaki” HAS to show up as another shade of gray.
I’m 100% sure it is a shade of gray to them
Is it too light? Almost like a white? No one is an elk so we really don’t know for sure

But In reality it’s movement that gives things away, so I’m sure I’d be ok with this shirt as long as it’s not wicked dark timber

I like to blend in with my surrounding, does it matter to elk? Probably not a ton, if it helps some then I’m fine with it. It for sure helps conceal me from other hunters and I really don’t like being seen by others. Maybe I’m a weirdo but I’d rather not stick out like a sore thumb on a hillside or ridgeline, might give others the idea that it’s a good spot for them to check out. I’d rather just sit back and watch them unknowingly wander past.

Won't matter to elk...but I don't like anything that might resemble the tan hide or rump of an elk when there might be other hunters in the woods...especially rifle or muzzy hunters.

Stand IN FRONT of something while calling to them, you will be fine. The nose is the part of the elk you need to be worried about not the eyes.

Looking at the lighter color, it looks to have a sheen to it. I wouldn't choose that color for my outerwear. The one on the right I would wear in most situations.

I prefer my outer shirt to have a pocket or two on it. The Kuiu long-sleeve hoodie now comes with a neck gaiter/face mask, as well as a pocket on the chest. With neck gaiter and the hood it gives full coverage when needing g to cover your face when animals are super close.

Mine are camo, but I use it for turkey and predator hunting the most. For elk or mule deer an earth tone of some type would be just fine.

I would break it up with a lightweight vest. More concerned about the reflection of the silver puffy coat. That I would hide.

The Stone Glacier puffy is just worn while sitting/glassing/not moving or hunting.

I like my Sitka Heavyweight hoody in coyote it’s just too heavy if the temps are above the mid 50’s ( if hiking).
