I bet his idea was to create an underclass of Mtn Ops fueled millennial, flat bill, Harris supporting bear hunters that he could eventually use as an army to combat the Trump supporting “American ISIS” (you know, 50% of the country) in the coming great war of ideologies, in which Steve Rinella will be a general and, after it’s said and done, all public lands will be closed to hunting, all assets of Trump supporters seized, and the NWO will be complete with BHA managing the public housing sector and Rinella himself will oversee the redistribution of wealth in addition to throng the New CEO of Netflix where programming will focus on animal welfare.

I just think Steve likes corporate money and so he toes their lame-ass line now.

Some groups lean on a crutch for 150+ years; others work to change attitudes and ill-conceived opinions by hard work and to get organized in politics and voting.

To wit: My wife is of Irish ancestry on her Dad's side. Here's what they faced in the Boston area in the 1900's.

And just so you folks know, while I take this subject seriously across the board, I cannot help but post the second image to highlight some groups don't lean forever.

I thought the podcast on hunting among the post-slavery African American community was really interesting. It was educational, historical, and touched on a topic I had never thought about. It may not have been about hunting tactics, etc, but it was most certainly about hunting. It’s heritage, it’s roots, and it’s ability to give those doing it a sense of empowerment and freedom. I would think many on this forum would identify with that. I’ll continue to tune in weekly...

I disagree completely. Your parents had options and they made the choices that they thought gave their family unit the best chance to thrive. Mine did the same.

No kids out of wedlock, not being afraid to work, continuous employment and that nobody (especially the gubment) owed them anything were all reasons why your family did well as did mine. A little luck is also part of that equation.

My wife and I had a far easier life then either of our fathers by a long, long shot. What they did (or didn't do) had a lasting impact on their lives and ours. Not every person makes the same decisions, but today, everybody will be guaranteed the same outcome.

Amen. Nothing will replace a nuclear family unit and it’s power for improving the probability of success. Add hard work and you have created a high likelihood of living the “American Dream.” I deep down do not understand how “equity” that seems to be all the buzz at my and many other institutions has any lasting power without the building blocks to support it.

This thread is hilarious, everyone so sure that their position is correct and attacks anything that says otherwise. Exactly what’s wrong with our country. We’re all hunters presumably, we should be able to see a middle ground in the discussion of the OP. Is ME leaning left from traditional hunters? Yes. Is that the downfall of America and hunting as we know it? No. Are some of their podcasts still interesting to listen to even though I don’t agree with the discussion? Yes and that’s ok, why do we all need to hear an echo..

Just chill, a few snowflakes and other races running around the woods hunting is only good for the cause. If that’s what we get from ME I am not threatened and welcome the support on the ballot.

CRT is a joke plain and simple, it should not be indoctrinated into our schools but we should discuss that certain races were at a disadvantage for a long time and now they aren’t doing a whole lot to help themselves out of a hole they were put in. That is it, plain and simple, don’t have to be woke or a Trumper to see common sense and facts. Any race can get a hunting license and use it.

Well don't you know that terms like nuclear family and American Dream are just as racist, offensive and mean spirited as mother, man, and woman? Apparently "science" only applies to government mandates and not actual biology. I guess that we can add science to the list of racist things along with the weather. As a native South Carolinian, I laughed at how the guest fumbled through Post-Reconstruction history. I guess that’s what you get when a white guy from California and more white guys from the Midwest try to talk about Black culture in the South.
For example, Sharecroppers were mostly white people. My great-grandparents and grandparents were sharecroppers. Most of the larger tracts of large in SC, especially the lowcountry are still owned by the same families who shafted people out of it post-reconstruction or during the Great Depression. Google the Murdaugh family of Hampton for a great example.

I have gone from a big fan to not interested in the past year. I would agree that I am no longer in Meat Eater's target market. Maybe Greta will be a guest on one of their upcoming podcasts.

Personally, I am a big fan of redemption. I have to give it to Rinella as being the person that got me into backpack hunting...not me but my Dad...it was his idea, not mine...Back when Rinella was on the outdoor channel.

If MeatEater wants my future patronage, I would like to see them do a series on the efficacy of using AR platforms for hunting things like coyotes, hogs, and javelinas.

The same could be said for Newberg, although not hamstrung like Rinella, I don't recall ever seeing a series from him on that issue either.

I would also like to see Stone-Manning disavow the eco-terrorist group that she formerly belonged to, and BHA to come out against wolf reintroductions and supporting hound hunting for predators.

I don't see any of the above ever happening and that, my friends, is the problem at hand.
