Title is pretty self explanatory. Is there a FFP mil/mil scope 16 oz or less that passes the drop test? If not I will stick with SWAFA 3-9 but wanted to double check if there are any other options to look at. If its not 16oz or better the juice is not worth the squeeze to try. Would be ok with either variable or fixed if it was close to fixed 6.

3-9 Huron passed (16oz). Id say a 3-9 accupoint would be a safe bet too (13oz)
Swfa ultralite seemed okish in the drop eval (9oz)

You lose the dialability and FFP compared to the swfa 3-9 though. And the swfa ultralite doesnt sound that appealing glass-wise.

I was happy with the Huron's quality on my old man's rifle for a no frills 1" tubed sfp

Doesn't answer your question but I just had a scope lose zero during hunting season. That scope is gone. I took the weight penalty and went with a scope known to hold zero (NF). I don't want to experience another failed scope during hunting season. None are guaranteed but some are less likely.

Huron would be cool but its sfp, I do most of my shooting backed off from max. SWFA UL might work but its only in MOA.

If I was less set on FFP and Mil/Mil it would be easy to find.

Yea that is my top priority and the SWFA 3-9 is fine. Just seeing if there are other options a touch lighter. I dont think there are though.

I have actually been hearing quite a bit about Nightforce scopes losing zero, everywhere except rokslide.

Zero personal experience, I have never owned one. But I know someone personally who has had two different Nightforce fail, and he knows what hes doing.

Ive also heard on some of the long range forums quite a few guys claiming they had NF failures. This is second hand knowledge and alot of Fuds on those LR forums, but it's interesting.

No good. Hopefully less likely than my prior Vortex.

Did all of those people switch to a mark 5 leupold after their nightforce "failed"? I haven't seen these claims but all scopes can have failures and/or lose zero. I have all of the faith in the world in all of my nightforce products and I'm not easy on my equipment.

I have FAITH in Murphy. I am CYNICAL about the reliability of most things. I have “statistical optimism” that certain things are less likely to fail.
