Is the tikka 300 WM mag coal really a problem?

Grabbed a Roughtech 300 WM on whim. Before I start playing around with it is the 3.4 COAL of factory mags really going to hold the cartridge back?

I do reload and recognize that I might not be able to get close to lands, but aside from that it is seeming like the downsides of eating up case capacity are largely overblown.

Is there anything I am missing?

The one I loaded for was with 208 ELD-M and 215 Hybrids. The 215 were a no-go at mag length, although they shot really well at single feed length. 208s worked but definitely ate up some case capacity at mag length. My best guess is that it was giving up 100+ fps, though I didn't test to find out. It was for a buddy, we only had a day to do it, and he wanted them to feed from a magazine.

Yes - the case capacity thing is overblown. The 300 Win is blessed with a lot of case capacity. The real issue is you may not be able to use some of the bullets with long nose as ogive will be below case mouth to stay within oal. Also, some bullets like the non hybrid bergers and other secant ogive bullets can literally spray over the target with a lot of jump. I have a custom 300 Win that sprays bergers (to the point I thought something broke:) but shoots accubonds and hammers sub moa

As stated above, shooting the heavier bullets is why I personally didn't go the Tikka route. 3.6 COAL for my current 300 load with 215 bergers. That and the slow barrel twist really turned me off of them.
