This is kinda off the hunting subject but I thought what the hell. So basically my family and me have been looking to move to Colorado, specifically Pueblo . I think I have a good job lined up and a house but after digging into I see that Pueblo is ranked as the highest crime city in Colorado and ranked pretty high in the country? Is it really that bad ? I’ve been out to Colorado many times and everyone has always been super nice . But that doesn’t seem to be what the interweb says about Pueblo. So again is it really that bad or am I being paranoid?

like anywhere, there are decent parts- but for the most part, yeah. Especially if I was raising kids, I wouldn't live there.

Decent outdoor rec available very close by though.

A friend of mine lives in Pueblo. I haven't been all over the city but the parts I've been too are a lot nicer than I originally expected. I don't go by statistics or others opinions much anymore. St. Louis is great and has one of the highest murder rates in the country. Chicago, KC..Denver the same. Pueblo is big enough that you have everything you need and small enough that it's better than Denver. Just stay out of the bad parts of town and don't flip people off and normally you'll get along just fine.

If your going to work there maybe look at areas outside of it as well and commute.

It looked pretty crappy from the highway driving through and Colorado Springs was a disappointment as well. 500k houses 2 streets away from Garden of the Gods and there are cars parked on lawns and homeless people confronting traffic.

Live in Penrose, just a nice out there spot. Right at the front range for training and learning the mountains. Canon City would be even better.

I think like living anywhere, give respect get respect. Everyone keeps it moving and gets along just fine.

Two years ago I fished the Arkansas River Tailwater below Pueblo Reservoir. I went with a friend of a friend who lived nearby and fished it fairly often. We had a nice day, it was slow but we caught a few decent fish. At the end of the day we were having a beer at the trucks and I asked him how the fishing was farther downstream. He said it was surprisingly good, but said not to forget your gat.

If I go fishing and have to bring a gat, it better be for bears, or I'm not going. Thanks but no thanks.

Pueblo green Chile's are fantastic though.

It's a pretty sketchy place. I'd look at some of the smaller towns east or west of Pueblo and commute. Stay off I-25. Traffic to and from Co Springs is terrible as well.

There's a dragstrip, tailwater trout, ball fields AT the zoo, state fair, and you'd have a valid reason to own a boat.

Lots of wins
