When I was younger I used the bad balm at night and covered them with cotton socks.

As far as a hand lotion, I haven't used in a while, but I remember Mane 'n Tail - Hand and Nail Therapy working very well. Another option to check out.

As a long time climber I've tried them all. Zim's Crack Cream in the spray bottle, not the lotion in the squeeze tube but the pump spray bottle. It takes a bit to rub it in but it's worth it. At the end I might take a paper towel to wipe off any residual. Climb On is way down on my list, gave it up 20 years ago 🤪

Long time climber here as well. Like you I’ve tried them all and climb on works the best for me. I won’t use shit if I’ve got to clean up afterwards.

My fingertips will start cracking the day I get up there, usually don't do anything but when it gets bad I'll put some chapstick on it and slows it down.

I’ll second the Vaseline… I don’t have issues but my wife does with her hands. It’s more preventative than anything but when she does it regularly she doesn’t have issues.

Udder Butter. They might have changed the packaging. Used to get it at the drug store in a tin. Now I only see a tube.

I couldn't leave it at the clubhouse. My fellow sportsmen kept stealing it. I suspect most of them had never had cracked skin.

Chapped hands, maybe.

I don't want to speculate ...

bag balm and then tape up. dont waste money on corn huskers.

if you tape up before they crack you will be way ahead of the problem. i keep masking tape close by.

I was rafting guide for a number of years and my hands would get chewed up in cold weather. I found that regular Vaseline and cotton gloves at night would stop the cracking. You could even try wearing some mechanic type gloves with a bit of Vaseline during the day too

I was actually thinking about wearing a pair of leather driver style gloves which I have treated with obenaufs, with a liberal amount of some sort of sauve or beeswax type product or something while actually hunting.

My brother turned me onto a lotion called Corona Ointment. It’s a lanolin based cream used for horses. Works! Can get it on Amazon or farm stores. Also, if your fingers crack, I use super glue to seal up the cracks and give the skin an opportunity to heal.

Not an answer to your question, but if you're having a problem finding any of those cracks, I've found that Purell works very well for that.

i like something with lanolin in it or pure lanolin. put it on cuticle and then tape the ends of your fingers with masking tape or what ever you like. something that sticks well.

Oddly enough mine don't crack at the cuticle. It's always high use areas, like if you pinch something between your thumb and finger. It will form a long split there. I would like to try something with lanolin but most of the products made from it have something else undesirable in it like paraffin.
