Insulated pants

Need to wear your mid layer on the trail and then put your outer on at tree or blind. A lot of the insulated pants are going to be to hot unless its really really cold. I have worn the Proximity LT walking about 125 yards to my tree stand in 27 degrees and I thought I was going to pass out and i was drenched. Had to take jacket off and my mid layer. Never did it again and won't. I wear guide pro pants and they weren't to bad walking in with a 200 merino under it. The last Kuiu sale I went and got the heavier Axis pant that have the waterproof paneling and they are definitely heavier than the guide pros. Which is what I wanted.
Be bold and start cold.

If the grass is not wet I wear merino base layers and the KUIU 290 Layering Pant to the stand. Once I get to the base of the stand I put on my Proximity pants & if it's really cold I wear my superdown ultra pants under my proximity also. They're not loud when you put the proximity pants over them.

I always wear a merino base layer, Badlands Rise pants (they are almost like fleece). Then I carry in my Cabelas Wooltimate pants. Those things are really warm. If I have to hike pretty far with a stand, I'll only wear a T shirt or a thin long sleeve shirt and attach my jackets, base layers and wool pants to the stand. When I get to my spot, I use my shirt to dry myself off, wait until I cool off, then put on all my clothes. As long as you are dry, you usually stay warm. It only sucks for a little while, you warm up pretty quick hiking. Even when it's 15-20 degrees.

Kryptek Njord pants are what I use. Full leg zips so I can walk with them open, and climb up. Then Zip them up once I'm in the tree. Very warm and quiet. Great quality too. Most overlooked camo there is I think. Usually great sales this time of year.

Southeast, here, I use either old cabelas dry plus (pre bass^&*) or old browning hydro fleece bibs. The pants, I can walk in, if it's only a few hundred yards, if not, I just wear merino in like others suggested. The bibs, I can put on in a ladder stand. I don't try that in a climber, I'll put them on at the base. Some of our shooting houses are so small, they have less room than the ladders, so I'll put the bibs on at the base. The houses were built too small for some of the chairs we put in them.

I use to swear by Sitka until I tried Asio camo. Their sherpa lined bibs and pants are now my go to for late season deer hunting. Lifetime warranty and priced better than Sitka and the crew is just fabulous and are real world hunters unlike the sitka brand that I believe is ran by money hungry folks just trying to steal our money. just my opinion of course.
