My pre 80s Marlin 60, 22 tube feed. Shoots 18 or more short, long, long rifle. 5000 rounds weighs 36 pounds and can be purchased anywhere. Will reliably kill deer and under game. Deer require distances closer to bow range. This is assuming some world event conspires to limit me to one rifle, and no shotguns.

If it had to be one I already own, one of my .280s. If it could be a future purchase, it would probably be a switch barrel .280ai I plan to put together once things settle down.

Winchester Model 70 Classic Sporter I had built in a 280AI. Love that rifle but..................

My Ruger 1B in 30-06 has beautiful wood, 26" barrel, and it shoots like crazy. Such a classy rifle and a dream to carry. I cannot only have one as both of these have to be by my side!

I'm pretty fond of my xbolt hc speed in 300 wsm. Sometimes I wish it was 300 win mag just due to ammo availability but not enough to sell and buy again

Just finished it. Custom 21” 300 prc handles like a dream and should reach as far as I will ever need on game.

Though if I got to travel the whole world I’d probably take a 375 H&H (now you know what I’ve been drooling over this week :))

I do only have one centerfire rifle and have no plans on ever buying another for myself. It's a Tikka 270 WSM. It's killed everything from moose to antelope. With copper bullets I'm not afraid to hunt anything in North America with it. When the kids are old enough, I'll probably get them a .260 or similar, but I'll remain a one rifle man.

I would have to keep my least favorite rifle... Stainless steel Ruger 30-06 with the skeleton zytel stock, 3-9 scope. 1” groups with anything that will fit. Hasn’t changed POI. In 18 years. Hasn’t been cleaned in 18 years. Controlled feed.

My Rem 700 in a 300 WM with a Hart barrel and McMillon stock. I have a similar 30-06 but the 300 is more accurate.

My dad has the same Boat Paddle in 270 win. Shoots amazing groups with Hardware store and gas station ammo as well as handloads.

.300WM will do anything and everything in No. America. Plenty of ammo options for any size game. Will reach and kill at 1000 yards.

I enjoy archery and bowhunting much more than rifle shooting or rifle hunting, for a variety of reasons. Certainly others may be the opposite, and I can appreciate their passions!

With that, I was a one-rifle shooter and hunter for about 20 years. It was very simple and uncomplicated.

I purchased two more rifles and am now up to three. (Paltry in comparison to some, I'm sure.)

Owning one rifle was better, for me.

Having a safe full of guns is like having a bucket full of hammers, to me. Depends on where you want to spend your money doing what YOU enjoy, and finding the right tool for the job, whether that job be shooting for enjoyment or owning a certain number of rifles . If that's 1 rifle or 50, to each their own!

It would be between my boat paddle Ruger .270 or my Johan Springer 98 Mauser .270

I’d settle for any cartridge from .264 - .358 based on the ‘06 or Mauser case and stuck in a 98 Mauser or Ruger 77 MKII action.

it would be a custom (6.5-ish lbs scoped and loaded) 257wby, I hunt elk with a bow so I don't need something dedicated to big critters.

My switch barrel that I just built.

6.5ss and 338ss. 8 lbs all up with a Nightforce 2.5-10nxs scope on it, 22" barrels, light enough, handy absolute beauty to shoot off hand or off the backpack.

I've actually sold all my other hunting rifles. So this really is my one rifle.
