Looks like a good one, congratulations! My 15yr old son tagged out on his bear this afternoon. 6mm Creed, 1 shot.
Thanks! And ya, it seems to be a decent bear. There was noticeably more meat to haul down the mountain than the 5yr old boar we got him on last year. Took us practically all night to skin and haul out the 4 quarters and back straps. Very healthy bear though. Still had a lot of fat on it.Looks like a good one, congratulations!
I love seeing kids getting out and learning. That’s a good looking bear.My 15yr old son tagged out on his bear this afternoon. 6mm Creed, 1 shot.

How far north are you?Congrats to those that have filled tags! Went out this past weekend with no success... way too much snow to get high enough for good glassing. We will see what the next few weekends hold for me!View attachment 873155
Worked great. She was on an open hillside and my buddy recorded it on a spotter. Tumbled right down and we were able to see exactly where it went. Didn't really need to pay attention to any blood trails or anything.how'd the 22cm do on a soft skin bear? lot of blood? long/short track job?
Wow. I was over in Unit 33 and it was pretty well melted off except for the very tops
Up north you'll be lucky to make it up past about 4500ft even on the south facing slopes, I imagine everything on the north side is all still snowed in.
That being said my little dude and I made it out and about and spotted a pretty decent looking chocolate colored sow(?) at about 3500ft about 750yds away tucked into a steep north cliffy face. She looked like she was hanging tight where she was, I imagine that she denned somewhere nearby.
We will see if we can go turn her back up this weekend mayb
