What started as a simple phone call to Idaho Fish and Game about trespassing in the Pahsimeroi Valley during the 2021 pronghorn archery season, led to an extensive investigation with over 50 wildlife charges filed against five southwest Idaho men.

Pretty crazy. They just seem to do stupid stuff.

My question is how they got caught for so many other things - did they actually tell LEO? Interested to understand how long the arm of the law likes to reach.

Or did their computers/phones get confiscated and then everything "investigated?" Find photos and then use em to prosecute?

It is interesting that at least three of the men were related. I just had a student tell me a story where he was hunting with his dad. They found a doe and my student said it was too dark for him to see the deer through the scope. His dad said he would take a shot at the deer to fill his tag, and proceeded to miss. He then told me his uncle didn't want to hunt so he gave them the tag to fill. At that point I told him they could get a big fine and lose their hunting license for party hunting.
I feel bad he doesn't have a decent hunting influence. It is hard to expect a good end result for someone mentored by a poacher. I guess it is like everything else in life with the old saying that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

seized cell phones and social media posts probably held a ton of data..

It is and the rumors are pretty bad, but I don't have any proof of any of the allegations.
