Hunting partner that snores??

I sleep next to her every night so I’m just used to it at this point. When the dog chimes in that’s when it sucks. Sneak some kind of caffeine in their drink and take something to win the race to sleep if it’s that bad.

Two tents is the best solution. Bring a small, light tent for one of you to sleep in. You can still have the hot tent for evening socializing and getting dressed in the morning (I assume that you can stand up in the hot tent. Being able to get dressed while standing is a huge advantage of a hot tent over a little tent.)

A cpap or at least one of those mouth pieces could be a gamechanger for your partner. It's worth bringing up to him man in a serious manner.

I feel your pain. I was on a caribou hunt in Quebec before that hunt was shut down. Our outfitter utilized a large community style tent for all the clients to sleep in. I was lucky enough to sleep next to an overweight behemoth of a man that snored so dang loud there was no way I was going to sleep. By day 3 I had NyQuil flown in along with a case of beer. NyQuil, 2 beers, and headphones all combined did the best they could to get me some sleep but what a brutal week that was. I refuse to sleep in a small, confined space with someone who snores now. If my wife ever tells them that I have started snoring, I will go to great links to make sure I fix the issue. Everyone deserves to be able to sleep!

Great topic.

It is one of the reasons that I only go on one hunt a year with my buddy. I wear earplugs and earmuffs before I go to sleep. He is terrible.

tent, over a ridge or down the hill. CANNOT deal with snoring for myself or my wife... but then again I don't share a tent with anyone on purpose. Buy 2 tents!

I have one hunting partner that snores so loud that even with separate truck bed campers, I’ve needed to get up & move my truck in the middle of the night.

I have another hunting partner that is also a snorer… plus he can fall asleep at the drop of a hat… sometimes mid-conversation with a diaphragm call hanging out of his mouth. He fell asleep when we sitting on a wallow on a warm afternoon. A spike bull came in and stood 20 feet from him snoring away. Every time he’d snore, or choke or mumble… that spike would look & tilt his head like a puppy. I didn’t know whether to laugh or try and wake him up or just shoot the spike & go home. Ended up just sitting there & let the spike walk.

Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately?) I’m the guy who snores ridiculously loud and also falls asleep ridiculously quick. If I’m not asleep in under a minute I’m confused as to why I haven’t fallen asleep yet.

Thankfully my main hunting partner is my brother so he’s used to it, but I’ve found it eases the tension a lot if I bring him earplugs and NyQuil. Also if I’m willing to be woken up when it’s bad. Forcing your buddy to let you sleep first should help too

AirPods, Spotify, white noise on a loop.

Unfortunately I struggle with sleeping more often than not. This seems to really help me.
