Got everything on the logistics setup for a fall '26 moose hunt in the brooks. Last time up did a float with buddy this go around we are doing a fixed camp diy lake hunt. Gonna be 3 total people and I am currently stuck on which tent to use. Area we are hunting has pretty level ground that is dry up off of lake shore or adjacent river so not gonna be in the swamp.

Question is which tent do I want to invest in. Looking at the Argali Yukon or the Pomoly X6 pro. Bringing stove for sure, small backpacking cots and the normal other stuff that fits in our self-imposed 75#/person gear limit. No plans to run a floor

Has anyone ran either of these for a 2 week stretch with 3 people? is there enough room in one over the other if fogged in for a day or 3? Built well enough for several years of use? if we bring chairs can u sit in one and play cards on a stump? Send it

I don’t have experience with either those tents but…. What about bringing a second tent just for gear storage? It would free up space in your main tent.

I haven't considered the second tent, that could be decent option if during trial runs the one prove to tight. Gonna have a good tarp setup for dry chow area, plus have 2 large zip top dry bags.

foot print and overall head height go to the Yukon but usable space idk. Stoves gonna take up an 18"X18" area. Found the dome for about half the price of the Yukon but 2X the weight. decisions decisions

When that stove is hot its
Gonna take up a lot more than 18x18
Then figure wood For the stove taking up room Too.

I put a stove jack in the vestibule of a cabelas xwt tent once. Didn’t loose any room
In the tent and just left the door open when the stove was in use. Shut it when it wasn’t. Kept wood mess out and maintained all useable space of the tent.

I have not been impressed with the pomoly stuff I’ve seen (tipis) but that pomoly dome tent does intrigue me because I love the Cabela’s Alaskan guide geo tents and I consider turning one into a hot tent all the time. They just weigh 40lbs. The argali I have no experience with, but it looks very similar to the Nortent Koie I owned. I loved that style of tent.

I am a Seekoutside fan and I recommend getting the 8 man tipi or the Redcliff. I own both and love the space and weight.

Each has its own priority. Mine is weight and the ability to dry out. I plan for 2 weeks of rain and then if it doesn't, all the better.

2023 two man moose float hunt we ran a Redcliffe and two DST Tarps. 2025 three man caribou hunt we ran a Courthouse and a large tarp. Both with stoves. A combo of those is what we also run on our annual Flat Tops fishing trip where weight and space to transport is a limiting factor. When needed we also take a Tipi for gear and or meat.20250705_173317.jpg

Rent an Arctic oven if you can handle the weight. So dry and comfortable if you’re stuck for several days. Kinda heavy and bulky tho.
