Anyone know anything about this wilderness? Decent bucks to be found in the high country? Seems like an interesting area.

Did you make it out there? I am thinking of trying it out in the next few seasons.Anyone know anything about this wilderness? Decent bucks to be found in the high country? Seems like an interesting area.

Good luck to you. Beautiful country.I’ll be there in September for a high country rifle hunt….. fingers crossed. Will report back![]()
Will do, I’ll be there in Sept, when is your moose hunt?If anybody sees a big moose on the south side of 47 (or 431 or 471) let me know. I have a tag this year.
Some cats are trophies after all.I've tried trying it out. To many cougars in Aspen that get in the way of hunting.
I plan on focusing around 10.5-12k ft for deer… not sure if I’ve ever seen a moose that high, usually around 7-10k… Have you?Opens 9/12 for archery and 10/1 for rifle. My tag is only good for the south part of 47 that drains toward the roaring fork. Not the Fryingpan side/north.
Not always first place, though. Some cats are trophies after all.
OMGOh my, I'm so glad you asked! I've just been dying to tell everyone all about it!
There are giant bucks in every basin, and no hunting pressure at all! Completely undiscovered! Every new hunter that wants to kill a big buck without doing any work should hunt there!
