Not to derail the thread but if anyone has had a faktor turbo that is chewing up the bottom cable, how did you remedy? You can PM me.

I rarely see this an issue, could you post some pics ?

I will later tonight. Story goes bought new early this year. Swapped out stock strings with new ones from local pro shop. First cable lasted maybe 300 arrows and now same problem repeating again after 150ish arrows. Could be cable construction but don't want to invest in a better custom cable if it is due to mechanical flaw in lower cam.

Here are the pictures. This shouldn't be happening IMO but not sure if it is just crappy build or a mechanical problem. One close up and one zoomed out a bit to include the cam.

The spacers in the bottom cam, how are they arranged ? Color wise left to right and do you have a small thin one to the outside of the limb underneath one of the E clips ?

White on left and then appears to be black but possibly none? I didn't notice a spacer under the e clips.

Not knowing the big picture from how it is tuning or how it looks like on a drawboard where you are getting the wear, I would suggest you put the white spacer to the right side towards the riser and black on left. You will have to retune after doing this

Thanks for your help. I will be taking it back to my pro shop and discussing with them. Sorry for the thread derailment! You are doing good work on the reviews!

Dreamingbig how long have you owned the bow? How many arrows through that set of strings? That's a normal wear spot on the buss cable, however, if its a new bow with only a few hundred shots that's a little excessive.

Being on the subject of strings I'd suggest to anyone who is looking at purchasing a new 2015 Hoyt to also plan on putting new strings on it in short time. I've been very disappointed in the factory strings this year. The serving they used on the strings for the Turbos is incredibly thin and not durable at all. I've had to replace a few center servings and repair a few buss cables as well due to the cheap serving they used. So shoot the stock strings in then change them. They'll make a good back up set.

OR Archer - those cables have less than 150 shots on them. I purchased bow in March and changed strings:/cables out then went to tuning. About 300ish shots into first cable I noticed the serving was completely unwound. Turned out a strand or two was also broken. Shop replaced for free but now it is happening again. I wont be keeping a bow that needs a new cable every 300 arrows! This is nuts. That is why I suspect something mechanical.

I noticed in an earlier post that you said the shop made those cables for you. I'd suspect that it's the build and not the bow. I would look for a different string maker.

Thanks for the guidance. They made the last set for my maxxis and they lasted 2 seasons plus. That is why I gave them a shot with these. Hoping they can remedy but not optimistic!

That area that is showing wear on your BC is about in the same area where during the draw cycle it passes the small round track that the CC sits around, right near your axle.

My guess is that swapping the bottom spacers will make room for the BC to clear that track.

Again just a guess off of the info you have given. Honestly feel it can be remedied quite easily

Saw a thread on archerytalk with a bunch of people complaining about the same issue on their new bow (same bow you got).

My matrix wears at the same spot but not bad. Over thousands of shots.

String build can make a difference. The spacers look like normal placement. But maybe switching would make a difference .

Thanks for all the suggestions. It is appreciated! Good thing I still have my maxxis 35 as a backup while I sort this out!

Thought I would give an update. Pro shop swapped mods, built new cable with different serving material. Time will tell if it fixed it or not. Only a few shots in so far.

Got a little tweaking I am working on now with the Nitrum Turbo. Still testing to see if I see any downsides to it but so far so good. Most will really like the slight change.

Will share my findings if all goes well and it does include the Z5 cams.
