Robby engages with herds that migrate between heaven and high alpine. By engages, I mean he quickly admires the herd and then ignores them while looking elsewhere for obscenely large mule deer.

Just got home from 66a. I took a cow. We went a week too early. The bulls were just getting vocal when we left. I glassed lots of bulls the morning we pulled out.

I'm at 14 bulls to inside 60, all vocal and playing well. The wolves busted me 3x and shut them up. I screwed up a shot on a 280 and have seen on bigger and many smaller. The nights sound like coyotes with bugles. I'm down around 4k ft....think water and cows, you'll find bulls there.

Going on day 4 in unit 22 and have not heard or seen elk, tons of cattle and a couple bucks but no elk. All the sign we have been finding is a week or 2 old.

Was across the street from you through the 15th. Heard 4 bulls in 8 days and a 5th we saw bugling and hooking a cow thru the spotter that we couldn't relocate. One came in on a rope to 20 with no shot, others were moving away or lazy and disinterested. did not see or hear a thing the last 2-1/2 days. The cattle situation sucked as well. Hoping to hear if things pick up for you?

Just left unit 23 saw cows and very light bugling - 8days,All we called in was other hunters !

Unit 51 is still very slow. Haven't heard bugles in almost two weeks and a ton of hunters. If anyone knows Lemhi area and can help me out, I would very much appreciate it.

Been in the Salmon zone since the 10th, first bull heard was on the 14th. Screwed the pooch on a 320" two days ago. Been real quiet the last two days. Have not heard a wolf yet.

36A was (mostly) quiet, but had one big old guy come by after a contact call. Switched to cow calls and he came in bugling but I mucked up the range and he got away.
Buddy closed the deal, spot n stalk style, on a raghorn cruising solo, in the timber.

Been real quiet in 37. Only noise I've heard was a soft chuckle at night. Starting to feel like I'm in the wrong spot, but I know elk are here. Also, I did have a lone wolf cruise by me (40 yds out in the timber) a couple hours ago.

Slow and low.....we hunted 23 24 and 19.....saw elk but very quiet. Only a couple of bulls were vocal....we usually get into elk above 6500 ft but all the elk were under 6000 ft this year.....8 days x 3 guys (24 days) and only one bull under 50yds.....for some reason we bumped into solo and small (like 2-4) groups of cows a few times and no bull action, was kinda weird .......and we hiked WAY back in! No road huntinh....beginning to believe elk have moved closer to Ag land in general across the State....i am no expert, just what we saw....bugle action was later this yr compared to past 2 yrs
