What is your COAL on the 105?

Rifle is back from the gunsmith. I had him bed the Stockys VG and hog out the barrel channel while he had it to ensure complete full float.

I already had done a pressure test a while back, so I loaded up 10 rounds each of the 76 Norma Tipstrike, 100 tipped game king, and the 105 hybrid. Will hopefully test them out this week to see what it likes.

Interested in seeing how the 105 works for you. It is my 6CM's favorite bullet so if the Mini Actions like the bullet and it works good, I'll buy a couple thousand of them.

2.324”. CBTO of 1.727” is .020” off the lands (usually where I start all projectiles assuming the fit in the mag).

Interested in seeing how the 105 works for you. It is my 6CM's favorite bullet so if the Mini Actions like the bullet and it works good, I'll buy a couple thousand of them.

Not that I’m aware of. Only 10 rounders I’ve seen are for .223.

Edit: looks like MDT used to make one for the 6.5 Grendel, although I can’t find it on their site. Might be worth an email or call to them.

Curious the FPS difference with the 105 in the 6arc vs 6cm. Assuming it will be around 300 fps? Powder charge is approx 10-13 grains higher

37gr Varget in 6CM 16” barrel(less than 100 rounds down tube) with 95TMK averaged 2860fps. This is a middle of road load according to Sierra Data. Across 30 rounds.

Same bullet, 28gr Varget 2.3”oal in 6ARC 16” gasser with gas turned low enough to not eject a round 2650ish across just a couple rounds.

I didn’t try but I could easily fit more Varget in the 6cm brass. I got to 29gr before getting crunchy in the 6ARC.

I haven’t loaded the 108’s for both guns for comparison yet and probably won’t at this point.

But I do have black hills gold 108’s that shoot lights out from the 6cm. I’m an idiot and didn’t chrono last time I shot them. I suspect they’re pretty hot though.

2800 fps with 30.7 grains Hornady brass. Pretty impressive but I ran out of the powder. When I get more I will do more testing.

So a middle of the road 6cm load and close to max 6arc is about 200 fps difference? So a close to max would out the 6cm 250-300 fps difference it sounds like

Yes with considerably less barrel life with the 6 CM. That may not matter depending how much you shoot.

I will be putting 106 taps behind LVR and Starline Brass here shortly. But I have the 20" barrel. I am shooting/hoping for 2750 with accuracy.
