Howa Mini Rifles, Builds, and Upgrades

Got the call this afternoon that my stock was finally bedded. A little longer that I wanted to wait, but oh well - we had some pretty rough snow over the last month so wasn't much else to do. Will be picking it up tomorrow. Looking forward to working up some 6 ARC loads!

Whats your recoil pad? I'd like to see what fits the stockys VG as I'd like a bit of extra LOP
That's exactly why I added it to get a longer LOP.

It's limbsaver 10809. The screw holes don't line up, but the pad fits the shape of the stock well. I ended up drilling new holes and putting a bad of epoxy in them to hold.

Are you bedding the action/lug? My VG and mini will be here soon, trying to decide if I should bed it

Some need it, most don't. Put it together, torque to around 40-45 inch pounds, and shoot it. If it shoots good. No need to fuss with it if it isn't needed. If it is erratic when shot or if it doesn't feel right when you torque it down, then bed it.

I’d bed it from the start. Between me my stepdad and friend they all were loose in the stocky stock. Also as expected I had to dremel out some clearance for the Timney triggers. The safety will make contact with the stock when the safety is off. Also the weight adjustment screw will hit too with it let out where we wanted it. No big deal though. Few seconds with the dremel and bed the lug and tang. I never thought nothing of it when adding after market stocks and triggers. Just part of it.

As soon as the 22arc mini barreled actions show up I’ll bed it swap the trigger and have it threaded at 17-18” then start load work up with 88’s.

Does anyone have experience with the wood stocked variants? I am seriously looking at the Walnut/CF barrel version.

Check the fit and then decide. My last inlet was off front to rear. Front was low, back was high with poor fit up front. Machined it level and then bedded it.

Awesome, so I spend $400 and wait 7 weeks just to get a stock that likely isn’t plug and play
