There is a reason for that. Jk. Nice looking dog there. My dad had setters as a kid. We’ve been gsp since I was 11 and I am 35 now.

Local upland bird hunting won’t start until Thanksgiving. But we’ve got the dove opener and a trip out west scheduled to hold us over until then.

Some. To what degree depends on what you heard.

From what I have heard is other dogs or people. However it always seems to be one of the two.

It all depends on the dog too. Certain lineages are sharper than others. I think the sharpness issue is largely diminished, it is still there to some degree.

My male is very protective of my wife. God help the souls who would try to harm her with him nearby. But, he’s great with other dogs. My female is a lover no matter who is around.

Are those dd or gwp? I’ve always loved the look of them. Is there any truth about agression?

The one on the left is a male DD (9 months old) and the one on the right is a female GWP, 8 years old.

Neither of them are aggressive towards humans, we have 3 small children who give them lots of opportunity. The GWP doesn’t put up with crap from other dogs. She has never started a fight but she will not back down from one. She will also break up other fights. The DD is a goofball so far. But he is bold and I think he will be a lot like the GWP later on.

I also own a 100lb Chesapeake. I guess you could say it’s the trifecta of the “aggressive” hunting breeds. He’s a gentle giant and friendly toward most everyone. Although you would be an idiot to try to break into our house, I’m convinced of that.

I do hold pretty well to the notion that most dogs will do fine as long as they are socialized properly and kept in proper order.

I've been excited since the last season closed. Really looking forward to it.

Been a super dry summer here and I predict a wet fall, but we'll see.
