How to get banned from Rokslide

It's nice to go to a place that is respectful. Disagreements are inevitable. How it is handled is a choice.

Years ago, I didn't understand folks. I'm an engineer by training, so I had few people skills and no girlfriend (other engineers will understand).

Then I moved into supervision roles and found out that no one ever really grows up. Everyone has their child moments. For me It's when you can own it and move on that makes the difference. Some can. Some can't.

That is adult right there. Being able to apoligize, admit you are wrong, take responsibility, and allow other people to disproportionately benefit for shared accomplishments go a long way in the adult world - and can be quite disarming.

To me, that last part is an indication of how many can't.

I have no idea what happened with “Alone guy” thread, but being that I’m also from Alaska, I sure wish I’d run across that post.

He did strike me as a bit off/odd on the couple episodes of that show I did catch, but that seems to be pretty typical for TV and shows that depict “real Alaskans”.

I have been a lurker on this site and many others for years. I am a member of several others, but I can't handle them any more. So much dog and pony show and chest pounding with a disrespectful, demeaning culture. Thanks, Robby, for making this a nice place to for avid outdoorsmen to communicate and learn from one another. Please keep it up!

So are the un spelled words with asterisks allowed when discussing things and just not directed at a member? Just asking.
I guess you answered while I was typing.

personally I rarely see a need to make the extra effort to type cuss words. But I also know this isn’t a rated G forum either. But I draw the line when it gets personal, no matter the cuss word.

Calling someone a name or cussing at them directly on the internet is a very non masculine or even non human approach that exists way too much nowadays. Thanks for the great work on this forum and please put away that sword before I get in the way of your swinging. 😉
