I have a Vortex gen 2 65 mm spotter that I bought new and have noticed the eye cup moves very easily. Too easily. When I put my digiscope on it (Ollin) the eyecup will rotate because it’s so loose. I have a straight spotter FWIW. Anyone out there have a way to tighten the eye cup? I don’t want to send this off for a full blown warranty issue.

I have an angled Gen 2 Razor HD with the same issue. I thought the one that I tested in Scheels was tighter. Following for input.

Same scope, same issue with the eye cup. The eye cup was either tight or fixed in place until about the third use with a digiscope adapter.

Has anyone used some type of grease or bow wax in the grooves to make it a bit tackier? Would just be concerned it would collect dust and bind.

It's a friction fit design so once it's loose it's loose. The only fix is to send it back to Vortex. They have a whole department whose only job is fixing/replacing eye cups.
That would be the best, but how long after the repair would it be before it came loose again? Seems like a well-known problem. And how long will it be tied up while they repair it?

Yeah, that's why you pay a bit more for a Swaro and get better eye cups...and a whole lot more that is "better". You got your bargain...for good reasons. There is no fixing a bad design.
I have to agree with this statement. I got a good deal on my Vortex spotter. As this was my first spotter and I live in Louisiana I didn’t want to pony up the coin for the Swaro not knowing how much I would use it or what I would like or not like. In hindsight I wish I would have bought once, cried once and got a Swaro.
