I eat venison or game five to seven days a week. I have not been to the meat counter at the store in years. I kill or catch all the meat I eat at home , usually three deer , one hog , and a bunch of fresh fish. Does anybody else live on the game they take ? I'm eating a venison burger now and have venison chilli left over that I will eat for dinner. Had a venison sausage , egg and cheese burrito for breakfast.

I eat what I kill, but there is no way that meat would last me a year. Blacktails are not that big.

I'm eating little south Georgia deer , 180lb bucks and 130lb does. I may be eating more than three , it is hard to tell. I shoot 10 to 20 deer a year in Georgia , Florida and South Carolina. I fill all my girlfriends with bennifits freezers and some friends and family too. Just in case some are thinks I am a game hog , if I don't shoot enough deer to keep the crop damage down the farmers will all summer and just leave them lay. I have been on a few shooter permits and have shot over 70 deer out of one 1200ac soybean field in one summer ! As far as the farmer is concerened they are rats with hrns down here.

I will eat on my elk 3-5 days a week on avg and through the year can eat about 75% of it...friends are always coming my way in August to help reduce the freezer for the upcoming season:)

That's easy, as much as I have. Seriously, we eat a deer no problem, and right now we are about 3/4 through my deer and my elk from last year. I did give some away to family and friends though.

We'll eat through 2-3 caribou or 1 skillet sized moose, 30 or so salmon and a couple decent sized halibut in a year.

About the only thing we buy with regularity is chicken and bacon.

Ross , I hear you about the friends helping to empty your freezer. I got down to about a quarter full on one of my freezers so wanted to empty it so I could shut it off. One email to all friends and it was gone in an hour and had other friends po'ed about not saving them some.

We don't purchase any animal protein at all. 3 freezers with moose, caribou, dall sheep, mountain goat, black tail, halibut and salmon. We usually have more than enough to share with both sets of family and friends if they want some. Wouldn't have it any other way, but on he occasions we eat out I find myself ordering chicken or pork :)

I hunted GA deer. Sadly they are still bigger (middle aged does and bucks) than our big blacktails, LOL. Crazy how many you can kill in that state. We are stuck with two a year.

Two bucks and ten does. I have shot that most years and then hunt florida , alabama and south carolina with friends. You can hunt from august 5th to febuary 17th within 3 hours of my house. My friends all burn out but I don't! Going to get my hunters porn off my and my friends cameras in the morning. If I asked I could be on a couple of shooter permits now. Don't care for wasting deer all summer anymore ..though.

If you had to buy beef to feed them it would hurt! I just put out a chunk of backstrap to chop up for veggie venison soup :)

As much as I can. Last year it was an Elk, 2 mulies, and 2 exotic Sheep. Made the exotics into breakfast and Italian sausage - they were awesome tasting.

Hoping for 2 elk, 3 mulies this year.

My wife and I solely eat wild game for our red meat source. We will still buy chicken every once in awhile. Last year we I shot two antelope and two deer and the freezer is about empty. Going to need to shoot something soon! I have a cow elk tag this year....I'm pretty excited and the possibility of filling the freezer with elk meat!

I love when I have a freezer full of game, I haven't killed a deer in a couple years and I really miss it... Having said that I could never give up beef... I love a good rib eye or Tri Tip...
